“Diálogo Clima, Educação e Equidade na Amazônia” ocorrerá no próximo dia 23 de setembro e reunirá o ex-ministro e atual secretário de Educação do Pará, Rossieli Soares, além de representantes de organismos internacionais. Realizado pela Casa Amazônia, o painel integra a programação da Climate Week NYC 2024 e conta com Centro Lemann de Liderança para Equidade na Educação, MegaEdu e Motriz como organizações parceiras. From September 21-29, participate in 12 workshops on climate games, food justice and journalism, climate filmmaking, solarpunk and hopepunk, climate emotions, music and theater, slow fashion, placemaking, and much more. Con la representación de nuestra Directora de Programas Sociales, Jennifer Ahern, participaremos de la Conferencia Mundial sobre Cambio Climático y Sostenibilidad (@climate.week 2023) a realizarse del 16 al 18 de octubre en Roma, Italia. Nuestra participación estará bajo el nombre: "Mitigación de Cambio Climáico Participativo en Comunidades Costeras del Norte de Peru: Un enfoque de Salud-Ambiente." Este evento anual reune líderes climáticos de los sectores académico, empresarial, público, sin fines de lucro, y partes interesadas de diversos sectores, con el objetivo proporcionar una plataforma para los debates sobre el clima y las sociedades sostenibles, mediante la creación de un entorno estimulante que produzca ideas innovadoras y caminos claros hacia su implementación y debatir las diversas facetas del cambio climático y su relación con la sostenibilidad y el calentamiento global. El tema central de trabajo de este año: "Advancing Nature and Positive Solutions for Net Zero and Sustainable Future".

“I want to celebrate the imperfections of materials and use them as design opportunities,” notes William Stranger, “rather than eliminate them for a uniform appearance.” SCROLL to 3rd photo!

“I cannot imagine the design process divorced from the fabrication process,” adds Stranger. “For me this also extends to the sourcing of sustainable materials and the use of scrap as a resource for innovative design.”

“I am drawn to the warmth and energy of the hand-made. The difference between a factory built piece and a similar design that has been made at the bench, with attention and patience, can be huge.”
