Regional Climate Justice Camp 2026 - Asia ✋🏼

had a wonderful week in Cebu with amazing young people in the climate space. i am grateful to have been able to participate in the camp once again, and this time in my home country. 🇵🇭

it felt so good to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and to just step back, listen, and simply be present. to pause from the chaos of the world, take a breath, and renew my sense of direction. i came into this year’s camp with only one goal, and i’m grateful to be able to show up despite.

i’m not home yet as i type this but knowing what i’m about to see is the very climate reality we’ve been fighting against together makes me furious, angry, and honestly, sad.

but that’s also why this camp matters. to remind us why we fight. to remind us that we don’t have to carry these emotions alone. and to remind us that even when the reality of the climate crisis is painful, there is still room to hope, and to keep moving.

thank you to all the participants of the camp, @climatejusticecamp @roots.people may our paths cross again soon. ☀️

padayon sa pagpakigbisog! ✊🏼

Urban Waterlogging in Dhaka...🌐

A few hours of monsoon rain are enough to reshape daily life across parts of Dhaka. As streets disappear beneath floodwater, residents, rickshaw pullers, and sanitation workers adapt to conditions that have become increasingly familiar.

This ongoing visual narrative explores the intersection of aging infrastructure, poor waste management, plastic pollution, and the growing pressures of a changing climate—revealing not only a city's vulnerability, but also the resilience of the people who continue to move through it.

In celebration of World Environment Day, I hope this original poem that I made, 𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘩’𝘴 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘴 𝘘𝘶𝘰, serves as a reflection of the consequences to what we have sown and a reminder that the future we reap depends on the choices we make today. Climate Change is closer than we think! 🌏

Introducing the “Elbi Weather”, the "unique" climate conditions that students experience here at the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Elbi Weather has long been a part of our student life, but with the growing impacts of climate change, these conditions are becoming more intense and are increasingly affecting our academic activities and daily lives. ⛰️☀️🌧️

As we face these challenges, now is the time to take action and work toward a future where intensified weather conditions do not become the norm. Together, we can create meaningful change for our communities and the environment. 🍃

Have you ever found yourself stuck in long train lines, the heat blazing, unbearable? Or, waiting for the bus under your umbrella, trying very hard to brave the storm?
Here in the Philippines, climate change is another unfortunate issue that most commuters face in their day-to-day lives.

For many, a back-and-forth commute can take up to three to four hours a day. The worsening climate conditions (such as extreme heat, intense rainfall, and flash floods) only add to the discomfort while on the road. 🤔🥵☔️

On a more personal standpoint, navigating Metro Manila through commuting a more affordable option. However, this also comes at a cost of discomfort given the lack of proper infrastructure to support public transportation and the worsening climate crisis.

As commuters continue to navigate a tiring 9-5 coupled with a long ride home, proper urban planning for a more effective transportation network is a must—and it can begin with the proper recognition of how climate change is a lived reality on the road! 🌏💪

There is a thief in our community.
‎
‎It does not wear a mask.
‎It does not break into houses.
‎
‎Most days, we do not even notice that it is there. Yet little by little, it steals from us.
‎
‎It steals the shade of old trees.
‎It steals the peace of families when floods arrive.
‎It steals harvests from farmers.
‎It steals childhood afternoons that were once spent playing outside, instead of hiding from extreme heat.
‎
‎The strange thing is that this thief never takes everything at once.
‎
‎It takes a little today.
‎A little tomorrow.
‎
‎Until one day, we realize how much has already been taken.
‎
‎While planting trees and mangroves, I found myself thinking about this.
‎
‎As a student leader and future science educator, I often learn about environmental issues through books and discussions. But today reminded me that these issues are not just theories. They are happening in the places we call home.
‎
‎Every tree planted is a chance to give something back.
‎Every mangrove restored is a way of protecting lives, livelihoods, and the future.
‎
‎And maybe that is how we stop the thief.
‎
‎Not with anger.
‎Not with blame.
‎
‎But with small actions, done consistently by people who care.
‎
‎Because the greatest thing climate change steals is not our trees, our coastlines, or even our seasons.
‎
‎It steals the future we often take for granted.
‎
‎And that future is worth protecting. 🌏

Getting ready like everything is fine 🎀 … and then breaking stuff because it isn’t 🔥🌍

This isn’t just “overthinking the future.”
It’s living inside it.

For those of us—especially young people and marginalized communities—
eco-anxiety isn’t abstract. It’s daily.

So I stopped trying to stay composed.
And started breaking things instead.

Because anger is also data.
And grief is also clarity.

If you feel this too—you’re not alone.
But we shouldn’t have to cope our way through collapse.

Demand better. 🌍

ANG INET! 🥵

We are one with nature.

We indulge in its fruits and brave its storms.

However, with its destruction, it is the everyday folks and the tiniest of creatures that first suffer the effects.

We are more connected to our environment than we think. Some, even closer than others.

Happy World Environtment Day! Meet Lizzy and Larry. The siblings live their lives knowing there’s a bigger picture, a big problem that needed to be addressed and solved. But what if the problem was already there? What if it’s growing around the world to the point it reached our very rooms?
