Day 5 of San Diego Climate Week and the momentum is undeniable. 🌊

We are halfway through the week and San Diego keeps showing up in the most extraordinary ways. Today's lineup stretches from Baja California all the way to North County, from mountain watersheds to the ocean floor, and from the San Diego Zoo to an outdoor bouldering gym. This is what a city united around climate looks like.

The day opens with a binational watershed journey through Tecate with Osvaldo Nieto, a guided tour of UC San Diego's Kendall-Frost Mission Bay Marsh Reserve, and the 6th Annual Gathering for San Diego County Food Vision 2030 at Cuyamaca College in El Cajon, a full day dedicated to building a resilient regional food system. Head to Chula Vista for WILDCOAST's Pines to Playas bioregional watershed vision for the Otay Valley Regional Park, or stop by The Sea House in Encinitas for the SDCW Art Gallery from Noon–4PM and an activist songwriting workshop and song circle in the evening.

As the afternoon and evening unfold, the options are just as rich, scientists from UC San Diego's Scripps Institution of Oceanography and San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance come together at the San Diego Zoo to talk about safeguarding Earth's wildlife, Surfrider San Diego hosts a Rising Up film screening and panel in Vista, climate and sustainability careers conversations happen at Cal State San Marcos, Sierra Club San Diego and Climate Action Campaign unveil their City Climate Grades at Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute, and AI meets climate at a forward-thinking panel in La Jolla. And if you need a break from panels, go climb at Asylum Outdoor Bouldering or join a craft swap night at Ocean Beach People's Food Co-op.

Five days in and San Diego Climate Week is everywhere — in our watersheds, our schools, our breweries, our zoos, and our climbing gyms. This is what UNITY looks like. 🌿

⚠️ A reminder that the Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect through Thursday at 8PM, the rest of SDCW. Please stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, bring a hat, and take breaks if you are heading to any outdoor events..

Tag us and use #SDCW26 so we can feature your events.

Had a blast projecting my own route! ⚽️
.
My first time setting a route that’s not on a spray wall and I set it without testing the individual moves.
Did not see that flying toe hook coming hhahahahah

Mark your calendars to join us at Duck Foot Brewing Miramar on Monday, September 28! 🍻 We are changing things up this time and are thrilled to welcome legendary climber Mark Hudon as a special guest speaker.

Join us for his talk: "Rich in Memories: A Lifetime of Climbing." From a terrified teenager in Yosemite in 1974 to still climbing El Cap today, Mark is bringing an unforgettable evening of stories, rare photos, laughter, and reflections on 50 years of adventure.

The schedule for the evening:
👋 6:00 PM (or earlier): Arrive to mix and mingle with local climbers and advocates over a beverage of your choice!
🎤 6:15 PM: Guest presentation by Mark Hudon.
📋 7:00 PM: Shortened community meeting to hear the newest updates about San Diego rock climbing access from us.

You may laugh, you may cry, and you’ll almost certainly want to go climbing after this one. (As always, we will share meeting notes after the event!)

See you there! 🤝

And then I tried them and the rest is history ;)

Sweaty feet in climbing shoes is the one of the main reasons people try our climbing socks...

Once they try them, they realize...

Wow, this doesn't affect performance or sensitivity!
AND my feet stay dry and don't slip in my shoes.

Try them for yourself at one our climbing demos.
Schedule is up on the website: Gracewul.com

Thank you @climbasylum for letting us join the 1st Friday fun!

Mark your calendars to join us at Duck Foot Brewing Miramar at 6pm on Monday May 4 to hear the newest updates about San Diego rock climbing access from us -- and of course to mix and mingle with local climbers and advocates over a beverage of your choice! 🤝🍻

As always, the first hour will be an informal social hour before we dive into the business at 7pm. We will also share meeting notes after the event.
