Penland is done. And what did I take away from it all?

-idk what torque is and that’s okay (don’t even try to explain it to me)
-it was kinda hard
-I can do hard things
-growing up is weird n stout
-I could probably be exercising more bc why do I kinda feel amazing from all the walking
-finished work really and truly is relative, it’s not a lie
-it literally doesn’t matter and taking things way too serious is the quickest way to have a bad time

Thank you, Shingo, for reminding me to take everything less seriously 💫 and thank you to all my classmates for being so cool and interesting and talented and smart. Until I see you all again 💋

I Hope Your Flowers Bloom is a group exhibition that delves into the garden as a timeless space of solitude, where flowers bloom, seasons shift, and the physical world reaches toward the spiritual. Inspired by the song “Bloom” by hip-hop artist bLAck pARty (aka Malik Flint), the exhibition mirrors his ability to transform the natural world into lush, vibrant soundscapes, creating an endless summer.

"Yet to Wilt" reflects the longing for home and displacement of Vietnamese artist Clipber as she navigates American life playing with kitsch motifs and symbols from Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism.

Hello all!
We invite you to attend the reception for Clipber Tran, a Student Space Gallery artist! The reception for Yet To Wilt will take place from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, February 7th at Pingard Gallery. As this is one of five openings, we hope you will join us in appreciating the individual creative expressions of all the talented artists exhibiting this February—with snacks and refreshments provided!

🎆 Join us this Saturday on Avenue B for a "A Reach to Gauge" -- a free outdoor exhibition of artworks from our 2023 LES Young Artists of Color Fellowship cohort!!

🎨 Throughout this spring, ten fellows, aged 18-26, have been meeting with each other, co-facilitators Alejandra Acevedo and Mark Wilson, and POC artist guests and cultural workers, to share their work and experiences in the field. This exhibition is the culminating event where the fellows will share what they have been working on with the public! Performances, ceramics, paintings and much more!

🎧 Featuring tunes by DJ Sabine @oyasound!
