Artober day 11 and 12: Vending at the Los Angeles Print Fair

Because this was a 2 day event, I’m gonna count this as 2 days of artober haha. Real shout out to the @printmuseum for always hosting the most heart-warming show, my neighbors and friends who kept me company, the food and coffee vendors, and everyone who stopped by and purchased a print and said hello! Thanks for another great year of print enthusiasm!

Till next year~

Artober Day 9: Packing for the Los Angeles Printer’s Fair

I truly wish packing for an event only took 30 seconds. The first bag has all my set up equipment. The second bag is all my inventory. It’s nice that my inventory is mostly paper which is so compact compared to other merch. Local 2-day events are also nice because you don’t have to pack everything. You can always bring more the second day.

I know my second bag is so dirty… but after my samsonite got stolen at an outdoor market, I lowkey think the dirtier the bag the less likely it will get snatched. Both of my bags are actually pretty worn down, but they’ve lasted me such a long time.

@closeopenclub will be at the Los Angeles Printer’s Fair this weekend from 10-5pm at the International Print Museum in Carson! Hopefully it won’t be too hot this time. :)

Artober Day 7: Happy Accidents Books

Some days, I have no will to do anything after work, and lately I’ve been feeling that. Haha~ But thats ok, because it’s Saturday and now I have no excuse but to luxuriously work slowly.

Riso printing is really such a hit or miss process. A lot of times if the drum is even working, the way I set up my file was not. And with that comes a lot of prints that can’t really be sold. Once I get a large stack of them, I organize them into books called ‘Happy Accidents’ because honestly even the mistakes look kinda cool— theyre just not up to my standards to sell by themselves.

Thanks @smingsmingbooks for the colorful spirals! 🥹💕

Next weekend I’ll be attending @printmuseum ’s Los Angeles Printers Fair, Oct 17-18 at the International Printing Museum in Carson! Stop by and say hi~ there will be so many amazing artists there and it will be a great time! :)

Artober day 4: What it’s like to vend at a one-day event (ft. @mayumi_market

Yesterday, was the day I tried out my new milk crate set up at Mayumi Market! I really wanted to talk more about the market and how amazing the organizers, staff, volunteers, and vendors are. But this baby content creator didn’t take enough footage. So I pivoted this narrative to be about what it takes vend at these one-day markets.

Thank you so much to everyone who came and supported my work despite the psychotic heatwave in LA right now. And thank you to my booth neighbors @p_s_c_5000 and @saldana.studios who kept me company and yapped with me!! It was so nice to see familiar faces! I honestly wished I could have hung out more~ I’ll have to do a haul later!!

Honestly, the milk crates worked perfectly for this event. It never felt unstable and actually provided so much storage space behind the booth! It was perfect. ❣️✨

PS. Shout out to my makeup for staying on my face despite being in this heat!!

Artober day 3: Milk Crate Booth Set Up!

I wanted to share how I think about my @closeopenclub booth set up and show you how I prepare for a craft fair with an unconventional booth. I love using milk crates because theyre pretty light, theyre modular, and they add a really nice vibe to a booth.

Something I don’t touch on in the video is how I try to optimize my booth for vending alone. I really don’t want to over complicate things— and I feel like these milk crates elevate the branding without being too difficult to set up!

Lastly, everything is tied together with cable organizing Velcro! So it’s really light weight but secure! ✨🙏

Hope you enjoy! And see you TODAY at Mayumi Market! 🥰✨

PS. bruh how do people edit videos 💀 it takes so long
