Add this quick trip to your itinerary if you’re in the Triangle Area!!

Just a couple of hours from the Triangle, Wilmington is the perfect escape for a day trip or a weekend getaway. Spend the day exploring downtown, walking the Riverwalk, shopping local boutiques, grabbing good food + drinks, and soaking up the coastal views. 🌴

And if you’re a One Tree Hill fan… you can add a little Tree Hill tour to the day too 👀🏀

Save this one for your next 48 hours off — Wilmington makes for an easy, fun day trip from the Triangle! ✨

What are other spots people should check out in Wilmington?! Add them to the comments 🫶🏼

Start your day with breakfast at Dixie Grill (go early to beat the wait!) or The Basics, then spend the morning shopping Modern Legend, Down to Earth, Top Toad for Wilmington merch, and wandering the Cotton Exchange. Finish with dinner at Seabird, Savorez, or Caprice Bistro — and don’t forget to leave time for a walk along the Riverwalk!

Date night in Wilmington 🌅 Start with a little shopping at Chandler’s Wharf & Ashley Taylor, then grab dinner at Floriana for handmade pasta + river views. **Tip:** the coveted balcony tables are first-come, first-served—even with a reservation—so arrive 20–30 minutes early to get on the waitlist (balconies are limited to 2 people + 90 minutes). Finish the night with gelato from Gelarto and a sunset stroll along the Riverwalk. 🍝🍷✨

🍸 Downtown Wilmington bar crawl: Start with the hidden speakeasy vibes at The Blind Elephant, grab a cocktail at The Ivey in the Alley, then head to Whiskey Tango Foxtrot for live music + a livelier atmosphere. For sunset, check out Cloud 9 Rooftop. The best part? Downtown is super walkable, so you can easily hop between spots without driving! 🌙✨

Welcome to Tree Hill! If you’re a One Tree Hill fan visiting Wilmington, save this one: start at Karen’s Cafe and grab a mug as a souvenir, then visit the Naley Bench, Brooke Davis’s house, Peyton Sawyer’s house, and Haley James’ house before stopping at the One Tree Hill Bridge, and TRIC. For merch, check out Black Cat Shoppe, Souvenirs & More, and Top Toad. 🏀💙 *The h

I kept thinking “play crack the sky” would be better since the sky was filled with lightning after I took this photo. Maybe they’ll change it.
