Today, we’re highlighting Cloud 9 Multisport, owned by Keith Sampson, whose mission is to help people move toward a happier, healthier lifestyle! 💙

Did you know that physical and mental health are closely connected? 💪🧠 Taking care of our bodies through movement and physical activity can positively impact our mental health, while our mental health can influence how well we care for ourselves physically. They even offer a private area for proper shoe fitting and comfort management to help make standing, walking, and running as comfortable as possible. Their goal? To help you feel like you’re walking on a cloud! ☁️👟

Self-care doesn’t always mean slowing down. Sometimes, it’s about taking care of your body so you can keep doing the activities you love! ❤️

Ironboys to Ironmen…

Last weekend I completed Ironman Canada, which was my 5th Ironman. But the best part was not that I finished another tough challenge. The highlight was the group of 10 other guys that we went on this journey with. One of them, my 74 year old father in law, has finished an Ironman every year since he turned 60, and my son had completed Lake Placid with us 3 years ago. The 8 other guys had never done an Ironman before.

We created a fundraiser for a local non profit, @2ndmileadventures so these brave young men “Ironboys” could raise money to help cover costs while also benefiting a non-profit who challenges people to go a new distance…to go the 2nd Mile.

10 months ago, with fear in their eyes, we had a meeting and we all signed up together. Half of them had never really swam before, and some of them didn’t even have bikes. But they had enough courage to say yes, and more than that they had each other…suffering is better in company! The camaraderie and community that was built over the last 10 months has been special.

Ironman is a metaphor for our spiritual life, not because I think it is, but because Apostle Paul clearly drew the parallel between athletics- discipline, training, and finishing well – and our pursuit of Jesus.

We didn’t create a way for these Ironboys to do an Ironman simply for the achievement… but for character, purpose, brotherhood, perseverance, and ultimately to put Jesus at the center for the reason for doing it.

The night before, the weather forecast looked terrible for race day…over 2” of rain and storms in the forecast. At dinner we prayed and I quoted Paul… to run the race marked out for you and finish with perseverance…so that we may finish well for a temporary crown…and let it serve as a reminder to keep our eyes on Jesus to finish well and receive the crown of life!

Everyone finished the race, and some did exceptionally well. They went from Ironboys to Ironmen! Special thanks to our sponsors and to @cloud9multisport
