Today’s ballpoint sketch for day 3 of @fieldandsupply Fall Market with @cloud_commons is a fall faerie. We were surprisingly busy despite the intense rains which is was a welcome surprise ☺️ These fantasy sketches were an unplanned byproduct of my intense art itch recently and being surrounded by some incredible creatives while at the booth each day. Special shoutout to @tdbank_us for having some of my favorite ballpoint pens to draw with. The thinner ones had better ink flow but these newer ones are still pretty decent. Im now officially thrashed and need some recovery 😅

A short stroll through my home and our studio reveals why my wife is one of the most talented, hard working and amazing artists I’ve ever known. Our walls and surfaces are covered in our art and hers is my favorite to share space with. She has a company @cloud_commons where she makes some incredible functional art for the home, body and soul. These pieces are just a small fraction of the fine art and symbols she’s made and that we have around the house. You can check out her shop for vessels and more at https://cloudcommons.co Just wanted to show some appreciation for her immense talent and dedication. She’s also the silliest human I’ve even encountered. I’m blessed to share space with her creations and share a life with their creator 🥰

Cloud Commons is Mel Martinez’s ongoing exploration of presence, ancestry, ritual, and the quiet ways objects shape our lives. From her studio in the Hudson Valley, she creates vessels that feel both ancient and deeply contemporary, blurring the line between functional object and personal artifact while inviting us to move through our homes with greater awareness. For Mel, a sanctuary is more than a room. It is a state of being. Her work reflects the belief that the objects we live with are more than things, they are what she calls “material memories,” anchoring the senses, carrying the energy of the hand that made them, and quietly shaping the rituals of everyday life. We’re honored to welcome Cloud Commons to the Cura Collective and invite you to discover a collection that encourages us to slow down, look closer, and create a deeper sense of sanctuary at home.

✨ Had the pleasure of spending the day at the Field + Supply Spring Market, and it did not disappoint. Went to support my dear friends @lomarfarms. who have participated over the years, it was so special to experience the incredible energy, creativity, and community that make this event so unique. The vendors were phenomenal, filled with beautifully crafted treasures and one-of-a-kind finds. Absolutely worth the drive to Kingston, New York. My newest obsessions are: @bklynbarsoap @johannahowardhome @864_design & @cloud_commons . Already counting down the days until the fall market. 🍂🤎 . #fieldandsupply #kingstonny #hudsonvalley #shopsmall artisanmade
