Preparing Now in Case Marriage Equality is Overturned 🏳️‍🌈💔

I wish this post didn’t have to exist. The idea that our marriages — our love, our families — could be stripped of their legal protections is gutting. It’s scary, it’s unfair, and it’s exhausting to even think about.

If marriage equality is overturned, many of the rights we rely on could vanish overnight — the right to make medical decisions for each other, to inherit property, to be recognized as a spouse in the most vulnerable moments of our lives.

My wife and I have already done most of these steps. I won’t lie — it felt daunting at first. But once we started, I realized we were simply putting protections in place to care for each other no matter what happens. And we are not alone — there are so many resources and people ready to help. I’ll tag some below.

Here are 9 key documents to protect your rights — whether you’re married now or planning to marry:
1. Healthcare Power of Attorney
2. Hospital Visitation Authorization
3. Living Will
4. Durable Power of Attorney
5. Last Will & Testament
6. Irrevocable Living Trust
7. Pet Care Directive
8. Agent for Disposition of Remains
9. Tangible Personal Property Memorandum

I know this can all seem really scary and overwhelming, just know that you’re not alone. #LGBTQ #LGBTQRights #lgbtqwedding #LGBTQlove

Grateful for every opportunity, every challenge and every growth. I feel so lucky to have had a great season, and so thankful for everyone supporting me in the studio, on stage, off stage, in the audience, and over the sea. Now off to a summer full of adventures 😁

I’ve had a lovely hiatus from Instagram during this Lenten season. It was much needed time to reflect and unplug.

I didn’t get to share during this time so here’s a throwback to performing Queen of the Dryads in Anne Marie Holmes’ Don Quixote with @kc.ballet 💜

I can’t put in words my never ending, growing love for this ballet. I’m still in shock of how much love I felt from the audience and how exhilarating dancing Kitri was. I have gained so much from this experience, and also know that I have so much more to grow. A huge thank you and congratulations to my fiery basilio @joshua.kiesel 🫶 It was a blast trying to keep up with you 😁

I AM, LOST TO ALL BUT THIS // Kansas City Ballet

Group work is so detail-oriented! It’s a great practice in decisive decision-making and has taught me a lot about my own habits and methods of communication. I’m always so grateful for the dancers reminding me what I just showed 5 seconds earlier because my brain is trying to process 10 things at once 😂

Take a look at these group sections!
