A little bit of Aesthetica news… Alongside ‘To Catch A Siren’ screening at this year’s festival, our film poster has been selected as one of just 26 for the 2026 Aesthetica Film Festival Poster Exhibition! Film posters don’t often get their own moment at festivals, so we’re especially happy to see the brilliant work of our poster designer @bemarq.art being celebrated in its own right. The poster will be exhibited at City Screen Picturehouse in York throughout the festival, from 31 October – 12 November, with the winning design chosen by Festival Director Cherie Federico. Congratulations Bernadette! Thank you for designing such a stunning poster for our film. And a huge thank you to Cherie and the Aesthetica team for giving film poster art its own moment to shine!

The film has been selected as part of the festival’s United Nations Sustainable Development Goals commitment, championing stories that encourage positive change across our environment, society, and economy. It means a great deal to have ‘To Catch A Siren’ recognised as a film that represents and upholds those values. Through its story of migration, displacement, and belonging, we’ve always hoped the film could speak to something larger than the story itself. Stay tuned for the screening dates very soon! “FilmQuest is just an extremely fun festival. It consistently delivers a great lineup of short films and feature films spanning horror, sci-fi, fantasy, comedy, and all kinds of other genre-bending insanity. One of the things I’ve always loved about the festival, though, is the community that has formed around it. There’s an awesome group of filmmakers, actors, writers, artists, and movie fans who show up every year, and that community is a huge part of what makes the FilmQuest experience so much fun. FilmQuest has now announced its nominees for the 2026 FilmQuest Awards, which were selected from a record-breaking 2,944 submissions. The winners, including those taking home the festival’s coveted Cthulhu Trophy, will be revealed during the Closing Night Awards Ceremony on October 31st in Provo, Utah.“ Check out the full article and all the nominees over on @geektyrant_com! We’re thrilled to be included as one of this year’s nominees. 🧜‍♀️✨🤞

‘To Catch A Siren’ is officially heading to Brussels! 🇧🇪 We’re incredibly proud to announce that ‘To Catch A Siren’ has been named an Official Selection of the 18th Brussels International Women’s Film Festival, presented by Elles Tournent, this October. For 18 years, Elles Tournent has championed the work of women filmmakers from around the world – creating a space in the heart of Brussels for bold, distinctive, and socially engaged cinema to be seen, discussed, and celebrated. More than simply a showcase, the festival brings filmmakers and audiences together through screenings, conversations, and debate, with a mission rooted in challenging the historic underrepresentation of women in cinema and ensuring that female filmmakers have the space to tell stories on their own terms. That makes this selection feel particularly special. ‘To Catch A Siren’ was brought to life by an extraordinary group of women both in front of and behind the camera, and at its centre is a story about women, displacement, and identity. To have that work recognised by a festival built around amplifying women’s voices in cinema is an enormous honour. Thank you to the entire Elles Tournent / Brussels International Women’s Film Festival team for this wonderful opportunity! 🧜‍♀️
