It’s official! Crookes has been named one of the The 11 Coolest Neighbourhoods in the UK 2026 by @timeouttravel! 🙌🏙️🤩

Taking the number 6 spot, it’s the second time one of Sheffield’s vibrant neighbourhoods has been listed in the Top 10 after Kelham Island was featured back in 2022.

Writer Ed Cunningham and contributor @ddywray highlight how this “under-the-radar residential area packs a lot of punch for its size” labelling it as a “wonderfully self-contained neighbourhood that is now a go-to food and drink hotspot”.

Here are the spots mentioned in their perfect day itinerary 👇

@punchbowls10
@crumb.sheffield
@lisboapatisserie

@tenaya_wine
@nonamesheffield
@crookessocialclub
@sheffwineweek

Tricky to choose with so many indies but we’d add @sorrelscocoabakery @cloudcoffeeco_ @urbanpitta to the list too 😋

There’s so many amazing neighbourhoods brimming with independents in Sheffield - it really is one of our city’s strengths 💪

NEW OPENING / BOOKS, BREWS & BEERS 📚

There’s a new bookshop-meets-café and bar over in Crookes, and it’s got some very familiar faces behind it 👀

Kate from @novelsheffield and Connor from @cloudcoffeeco_ have teamed up to bring us @proofsheffield, and we reckon they might just be onto a winner.

Think shelves stacked with seriously good reads, coffee from Cloud, natural wine, beers and plenty of cosy corners to get stuck into your latest book.

Basically, grab a brew, pick up a book and settle in for a while. Proof is giving main character energy, and we’re very much here for it.

One of the coolest new openings to hit Crookes? We reckon so.

📍221 School Road, Crookes, S10 1GN
