Welcome to Glitterball Cosplay! 🪩

Did you know Louisville is the largest manufacturer of disco balls? Similarly, Louisville has a beautiful, sparkling cosplay community that deserves it’s chance to shine!

We’re a group of cosplayers in Louisville, Kentucky committed to organizing adult cosplay events. We are partnering with local businesses to create the kind of events you want to see!

Our events are adult and queer friendly. Cosplayers, if there is an event idea you’d like to suggest, please feel free to reach out.

Local businesses, if you are interested in having us plan an event for your business, please email us glitterballcos@gmail.com or directly message us here.

‼️ WE’RE ONE WEEK OUT ‼️

remember to stop by @oldloubrew saturday october 17th for I.M.P.’s takeover!

on the second and third slides you can get a glimpse of the custom drink and food menus!! these are perfectly sized portions with all of our cosplayers in mind.

i know i for one will be ordering a stolas and pairing it with loona’s cauliflower bites 🤓☝️🐎

dw if you’re not one for cocktails, the full beer and wine menu will be available as well.

doors open at 5pm - IDS WILL BE CHECKED AT THE DOOR. we’ll provide wristbands for all guests over 21!

make sure you get there early, so you can grab a drink before signing up for the cosplay contest which starts at 7. the winner of the costume contest will get bragging rights, a trophy (as seen on slide 5), and a free wig commission by @st.megne . the terms of the commission will be discussed after the event!

no worries if you don’t feel like cosplaying, because you still have a chance to win our free door prize which will be given to one lucky sinner (slide 6) made and donated by @glitchy_rogue

that’s not all, until 8pm you can do some shopping with @holicmodestudio and pick up some glitter to elevate your costume or make a blorbo to take home.

because we’re so grateful to be partying and celebrating the new season together, there’s a limited number of special fan event cards designed by @ghost.hotel.art at the door (slide 4)

this is a purely fan ran event and is no way associated with @spindlehorsetoons or @hellaverseonprime

When I was fourteen, I had a seizure in math class. It was this dizzy, disorienting feeling that tasted like burning plastic in the back of my throat. I only blacked out for a couple of seconds but when I came to, my teacher was ushering me to the office and I was quickly on my way to the hospital.

I was told the MRI would take about 45 minutes and I could pick any music I wanted to listen to while inside. Of course, at fourteen, there was only one option; My Chemical Romance’s The Black Parade. Logically, it has a runtime of about 52 minutes and it was my favorite album in the world. I didn’t make the thematic connection until the machine began to whirl around me while the EKG beeps of The End. chimed.

I was terrified of having a brain tumor and the thing that brought me the most comfort was an album about death and the indomitable human spirit. I left the hospital with EEG glue in my hair, an epilepsy diagnosis, and a deeper love for something I already cherished.

In 2008, I got to see MCR on the last stretch of the Black Parade tour in St. Louis. I had been aggressively watching tour dates and St. Louis was the closest I could convince my family to take me. Clover and I finally got to see them in concert and it felt like a triumph. When they played Desert Song, a lesser known B-side that just happened to be my favorite, it was kismet.

When they were announced as a headliner for Louder Than Life, it wasn’t even a question.

Another thing that wasn’t a question was getting MCR tattoos in August of this year while our fellow MCR fan @corpse.kid_ was visiting from Singapore. When I told my mom about the tattoo, she jokingly responded ‘I’m surprised you didn’t have one already.’

Seeing The Black Parade performed in its entirety 20 years after its release was amazing and only reiterated its importance to me. But getting to see it with my best friends in my hometown was also kismet.

Jules and Clover, I love you both so much. I couldn’t imagine that experience with better people. I hope it doesn’t take another 18 years to see them again together 🖤

STOKED ABOUT THE HELLUVA BOSS SEASON 3 POSTER??? SO ARE WE!!!

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for October 17th because @oldloubrew is hosting Helluva Boss cosplay night to celebrate the release of the new season. And, Helluva Boss has a HELLUVA lot of fans, because the community really came together to make this something special.

Anyone 21+ or older can have some sinfully crafted themed cocktails made by the staff. (N/A options available) Not 21? No biggie, you get a free fan event card for just BEING there. @ghost.hotel.art graciously designed a card for the brewery’s event, showing all of the Helluva crew enjoying a drink at OLB.

Costumes ARE encouraged, as we’ll be having a cosplay contest at 7pm! Winner gets bragging rights, a ridiculous trophy, and a FREE WIG COMMISSION provided by @st.megne . Limits to the commission do apply and will be negotiated between the winner and wig maker.

But you don’t need to cosplay to walk away with something because at 9pm, if you filled out an I.M.P. intern application, you could walk home with your own Queef plushie designed by @glitchy_rogue

If your luck’s not great, enjoy one of our local vendors @holicmodestudio who’ll be providing a blorbo station, so you can take one of your favorite characters home.

Come down, meet new people, and celebrate the release of Helluva Boss with a pint at OLB!

“We don’t know a Count Olaf..”
“Yes, yes, of course you do. He’s either your third cousin four times removed or your fourth cousin three times removed.”

Dragon Con may have started out with a Bad Beginning, but we had an absolute blast! This is a group I definitely want to do again, but next time I will devote myself to creating Violet’s dress from the 2004 movie.

Tell me why Clover bodies old men impeccably every single time!!
