First mix of 2026 up now on SubsoloFM (🔗 in bio) MIX018 a LIVE hardware Jam from @clown.warfare
aka Mike Sheppard - the founding ringleader of Clown Warfare, the anarchic live electronica institution. Formed in 1997, the band creates a carnival of dub, breakbeat, and big beat.

Clown Warfare has a sound forged in the UK's free party spirit, drawing from the anarchic energy of Spiral Tribe, the dub weight of Bedlam, and the digi-dub science pioneered by Ifor Clarkson, Denbigh, and Lee Berwick. This lineage was cemented early on; for many years, Sheppard was the DJ partner of the legendary DJ Offshore, a collaboration that deeply shaped the project's roots. An early partnership with the radical video activists Vox Populi established the project's signature style of gritty visual collage.

Today, Clown Warfare is surging with more live shows than ever. Sheppard also runs rocketstudiosfuseta based in the Algarve region of Portugal🇵🇹 producing all the band's graphic art, videos, and merchandise, creating a complete chaotic aesthetic. Mike Sheppard remains a stalwart underground ringleader, his bassweight carnival stronger than ever.
