Happy 5th Anniversary to HUES. ❤️💛💙

For the last 5 years I’ve only ever looked back on this project with happiness. The time I spent making it, the people its reached, the friends/family its brought into my life. Over time, all the memories I’ve made and experiences I’ve had because of its release have become attached to the songs. I see my first live performance while listening to VANTA, I feel the first few sleep-deprived months of DIY shoots, sessions, and house hunting in LA when I hear PINE. Leaving home and living on my own for the first time acts as an ambient drone that hums under every word and melody sung on AMBER. There’s an amount of growth between 21 & 26 that can feel like decades. This project has created so many moments I’m lucky to have, and hold onto, during those longer stretches. To all the people who helped make this project a reality, whether it was producing a track, giving me a place to stay (thank you Tracie & Claire ❤️), or even just giving a pep talk, Im forever grateful to have had you put trust in me and these songs I wrote/recorded in an unfinished basement. If there’s anything the last 5 years has taught me, it’s that I couldn’t do any of this alone. To anyone who’s listened to this project and loved it, shared it with a friend, came to a show, left a comment - if you engaged with this music in *any* way, it was a deeply meaningful way to me. I believed in what this project could do for me, manifest and all that, but millions of ears is still damn near unfathomable. Thank you all so much. All the photos in these slides are from the first year HUES. dropped. The memories I see and hear when I press play. I'll give a lil context under each of them. I’ll end by saying: in celebration of this anniversary, and for the people who couldn’t make it to any of the shows earlier this year, I’ll be doing a limited drop of the double sided ‘HUES./CHRYSALIS.’ vinyl on the 21st! I got a link in my bio for you to get notified when it drops :) Until then, thank you all so much again for loving and supporting HUES. <3

‘Online’ 💙 is the last song on my album ‘Ingles Con Barras’
Which is a letter to my niece that I wrote after my family decided to self deport back to Mexico.

I feel that the song was also made for myself to come to terms with the situation and feelings I was going through.
