An important free community forum bringing together homeowners, faith leaders, small business owners, attorneys, elected officials, and community organizations to talk honestly about what it takes to protect Black property in New York City, the systems working against us, and what we can do about it legislatively and on the ground.

If you know someone who has navigated foreclosure, property loss, or predatory lending, their story matters and this is a space where it will be heard.

Curriculum doesn’t just “change”, our ancestors fought for it. And if the decision-making power is centralized, then the strategy has to match that reality.

So what can you do?

🔍 Learn who actually controls education policy in your state

🔍 Organize with other parents numbers shift influence

🔍 Show up consistently at meetings, not just when something goes wrong

🔍 Support and back candidates who align with what you want taught

🔍 Build networks that can advocate and apply pressure when needed

Because this isn’t just about textbooks, it’s about who shapes the story and who gets heard.

Power isn’t abstract. Once you understand where it sits, you can move differently.

When both sides move the same way on major decisions, that’s your signal to dig DEEPER. Do not just pick sides blindly. Foreign policy, military expansion, and surveillance don’t just happen… they’re choices made with long-term strategy.

So what’s the move?

✔ Research beyond headlines follow policies, not personalities
✔ Track where money and military presence is going globally
✔ Ask who benefits before accepting the narrative
✔Build awareness so we’re not being reactionary. We’re thinking ahead

Because if you’re only seeing what’s presented… you’re missing what’s being planned.

Stay informed. Stay sharp. Stay intentional.

This is something to prepare for. Global alliances are changing, economies are adjusting, and power is being renegotiated in real time.

So what do we do?

Get intentional:

☑ Learn how money moves locally and globally
☑ Support Black-owned businesses and build circulation in your community
☑ Pay attention to policy, go deeper than the headlines
☑ Organize around economic and political goals that actually impact your day-to-day

Because when systems shift, the people who planned ahead don’t panic, because they are already in position.

Don’t just witness history… get aligned with where it’s going.

Showing up matters, but what happens after matters more.

Moments in the streets can force attention, but lasting change comes when we use that same energy towards creating structure:

🎯 Stay organized after the crowd clears
🎯 Turn supporters into members, members into leaders
🎯 Build around real issues people feel every day
🎯 Move from reaction → to coordination → to control

Because pressure can open the door… but only organized power keeps it open.

Don’t just show up, build something that lasts.

A lot of people show up during election season thinking the job is just to pick a name, but real influence starts way before that. It’s about building the pipeline, setting the standards, and deciding who even gets to stand on that stage.

When communities organize beyond the ballot raising resources, backing their own, and moving with strategy that’s when the dynamic shifts. That’s when voices stop being ignored and start being courted.

This is bigger than participation… it’s about ownership of the process.

When resources are controlled from the top, influence follows the money. That’s how decisions get shaped behind the scenes, through funding, favors, and access. It’s not just politics… it’s positioning.

The real question is: are those resources building the people, or buying silence?

This is why understanding how local power works isn’t optional... it’s everything. Because the same system that can uplift a community can also keep it comfortable enough not to challenge anything.

Don't let them tell you that our voices aren't powerful... leaders respond when people organize, show up in numbers, and stay consistent. Real change isn’t just about moments in the streets… it’s about turning that energy into lasting influence where decisions get made.

It’s strategy and structure. Pressure and positioning. That’s how communities move from being heard… to being respected.

What do you feel we deserve as a people? What should we require our representatives to do?
Charles Barron is speaking to something deeper than talk; it’s about results people can actually feel in their everyday lives.

🍽️ Food on the table
🏠 Homes protected
🎓 Schools built
💼 Jobs created

That’s when folks start leaning in… not off promises, but proof. Real change builds trust and trust builds movement.

This is what community looks like when it’s active, organized, and delivering.

If this message hits, tap in and help us keep amplifying stories that center us and our progress. 🖤☕

Charles Barron breaks down a piece of the system most people were never taught.

It changes how you see Election Day.

🗳️ What’s really happening: Your ballot helps decide which electors represent your state...not the final vote itself
📊 Winner-take-all impact: In many states, whoever leads the popular vote takes all the electoral votes
🏛️ The structure: The Electoral College has 538 electors who cast the official votes
📜 Historical roots: Tied back to compromises made during the era of slavery, including the Three-Fifths Compromise
⚡ Why it matters: Where you live can shape how much weight your vote carries in a presidential race

This is why understanding the system is just as important as participating in it.

If this gave you a new perspective, help us keep these conversations going and accessible for everybody learning in real time. 🖤☕
