MAMA BTS ❤️

Here is a collection of moments from our two weeks making the film where we truly spent as much time filming as we did dancing, laughing, and loving every day. We are so grateful for the opportunity to make this film and we couldn’t have done it without the support from so many amazing people. Thank you again to everyone who believed in our team, we can’t wait for you to see it.

Meet Beatrice Lüchinger Wairimu, one of the founders of maisha! 🌟 She talks about why she founded the orphanage, and mama maisha. Beatrice was an orphan and was raised by mama, whose big heart led her not only to raise Beatrice and her brother but also all the maisha children and many others in the community. ❤️

Coming from a background in journalism, my true passion lies in documentary. One of my favorite parts about the medium is the possibilities for immersing yourself in a world completely foreign to you. Discovering that despite cultural and language differences, there are people willing to teach you so much about themselves, and even more about yourself, is nothing short of remarkable.

For me, ‘MAMA’ is an exploration into the complexities of losing parents at a young age, the ricochet effect it has later on in life, the resilience it takes to find joy through hardship, and the love that has the capability to overcome all shadows. I have always been drawn to stories about the human spirit and the undeniable ability we have to endure. My intention with ‘MAMA’ is to give Bryan the chance to share his story, and allow us all to find connection with him in a deeply human way that leaves you feeling fed from your soul outward.
