{PINEVILLE PARK & STORYWALK}
•••

This afternoon my mom and I took a little trip to Pineville Park for a nice Sunday walk! Spring is one of my favorite seasons for weather, a nice breeze with some sunshine, always makes for a perfect day! 🌤

While walking we noticed a really fun interactive way for children to get reading. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library Foundation installed the StoryWalk signs to help promote reading in youth. 📚

"A StoryWalk is a series of signs featuring an individual spread or page of a book (often a children’s picture book). The signs or pages are spread through an indoor or outdoor space in sequence allowing for a reader to follow the story by walking."

I encourage everyone to take advantage of this beautiful weather and to check out StoryWalk!

What are libraries like near you? Open? Closed? Non existent? 📚🌞 One thing we've learned this past year is to not take libraries for granted. 💞

If you like #yafantasy, check out the award winning book FIGHTING FATE by @shailapatel94! Here's the synopsis:
-
Empath Liam Whelan is determined to protect Laxshmi "Lucky" Kapadia, the girl he loves, at all costs--even if it means breaking her heart to keep her alive. Stopping the joining cold means Liam's life is in danger from the Soul Seekers and the ruthless Minister Gagliardi who now has designs on Lucky. Liam has no choice but to find the strength to fight his desires, fight the joining, and fight fate.
-
After the unthinkable happened, Lucky's "hallucinations" have been working double-time. Heartbroken and plagued by doubts, she meets a man who gives her a mind-blowing explanation for her predicament. Her apparent savior provides her with an escape from her hell: run away with him or return to her drab existence and watch Liam move on with her heart in his hands. All Lucky ever craved was to be in control of her own fate, but when her only choices fight against her heart, can she find the strength to battle for what she wants?

Did you know that Main Street Books looks out at the Reading Garden which “grows” at the Davidson Public Library? 📚

We are incredibly fortunate to have a fantastic relationship with our branch of the library and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Foundation. We’re all invested in nurturing the reading landscape for all readers.

It’s #NationalLibraryWeek and #LibraryGivingDay. Join us in making a donation to the @cmlibfoundation and be a part of their spring campaign to #bookmarkthetown - get a yard sign with your donation!

In-person limited services recently began at the reopened South County Regional Library! The community can browse materials, use self-checkout, pick up holds, use express computers (at designated branches and with in-person appointment), enjoy mobile printing and make returns.

📚Local Library Services📚⁣
⁣
Admittedly, I under-utilize our local library. Shame on me‼️ In 2021, I am making a concerted effort to be a better friend and advocate of our local services. Libraries are SO important to our communities and their services extend ↔️FAR BEYOND↔️ books. ⁣
⁣
🟢Our library foundation has partnered with several community organizations and business to offer monthly community reads and I snagged my •FREE• copy of March’s main read this weekend. I am stoked to read with my community!🟢⁣
⁣
QOTD⁉️ What are some of your favorite service or offerings by your local library?

April is National Poetry Month. If you're not a fan of poetry, try one of these teen novels in verse instead. They're especially captivating on audio, and they're great quick reads. Do you love or leave novels in verse? Tell us in the comments. More books in our booklist linktree.
