Our baby girls turns NINE today and I can’t hardly type this 🥹🥹….I’d give my right arm to go back and do these nine years all over again.

She is the 🍎 of ALL our eyes. She’s equal parts still a little girl playing with babydolls, and also BIG GIRL, baking her own birthday cupcakes to share with friends and making her famous chili for her family tonight.

She LOVES Jesus, babies, reading, baking, crafting, hosting and serving with her parents at her church and in their homeless ministry. She was telling us just this morning, which of her homeless friends had asked for a blanket headed into the colder months.

We are SO PROUD of the godly little lady she’s becoming right before our eyes. I would freeze her if I could but also excited to see what all the Lord has in store for her sweet life. Oh sweet Mikey Mae, Sissy and Chunky LOVE YOU SO! ♥️

Tonight we celebrated 10 years since our Daddy’s massive cerebellar stroke. TEN YEARS. 10 years since the scariest time in our family’s lives. 10 years since we experienced a great outpouring of love on our family. 10 years since SO MANY of you went boldly to the Throne of Grace lifting up our Daddy to the Great Physician. 10 years since the Lord bestowed on us His immeasurable kindness, love and grace.

As we read through the Facebook updates from those 12 weeks, we laughed and cried and gave thanks for those who loved on us SO WELL during that time. It was a time of such uncertainty for us but that time was such a GIFT! And it wasn’t a gift we recognized in hindsight…the Lord was gracious to let us experience it fully in the moment. Such sweetness with our faith family and friends holding us up when we could barely get through the day. Such sweetness in my Daddy’s health being restored. Such sweetness just being together as a family.

A lot has changed in these 10 years. We’ve added two sweet babies, another son-in-law, and calls into ministry for the Morgans and Lingners. But one thing hasn’t changed…our love for one another.

As we prayed together tonight, Joshua shared this scripture…

“Remember my affliction and my homelessness, the wormwood and the poison. I continually remember them and have become depressed. Yet I call this to mind, and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s faithful love we do not perish, for His mercies never end. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness! I say: The Lord is my portion, therefore I will put my hope in Him.”
‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3‬:‭19‬-‭24‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

This passage was written over 2000 years ago but, just like the rest of God’s Word, it is very much true today. The Lord IS FAITHFUL…and not because we’ve had 10 years with a healed earthly father…but because our Heavenly Father is our portion and our HOPE! If you don’t know Him, we pray that you open your heart to Him and let TODAY be your day of salvation!

With love and so much gratitude, The Brown Family

“As for me and my home
We will serve the Lord
As for me and my home
We believe in God
While on this side of the dirt
There’s just one name we put first
Jesus alone”

Santa is 93! 🎉 He’s jolly and a weeee bit stubborn. He prays the most beautiful, heartfelt prayers and genuinely LOVES people, especially children. And the best part about him is, he just can’t understand why EVERYONE loves him so so much!

Tell me your fav Marcus/Santa story and we’ll read them to him when we celebrate tonight 🎉

Here’s mine…on a recent visit to the eye dr, we were sitting in the lobby, waiting to be seen. A little boy and his mom walked in. Marcus comments on how “sharp” he looks with his little glasses. Without skipping a beat, the little boy runs over and gives Marcus the BIGGEST HUG (never saying a word). It’s like he KNEW just who he was hugging. It made Santa’s day and I was in tears. He’s a gem!
