A true year of firsts.

I had very minimal plans going into 2024.

When it began I thought I’d potentially visit Denver, and maybe collaborate with a whale watch.

Here’s what actually happened:

• Got to see Northern Residents from land
• Made a Land Based Whale Watching Guide
• Joined the @denvermuseumns for the Orcas: Our Shared Future opening
• Got featured in @woopwoopmagazine ‘s oceans edition.
• Put together tours with @outerislandx and @wildwhalesvan
• Launched merch with @catbobca and @cmpt_rules
• Travel with @peacock_joe_ and @tobin_sparling to Anacortes and back one day, and up to Telegraph Cove with @tamarashea88 @themoth219 and @intertidalkendy the next
• Got to watch the T137s swim under the Lionsgate Bridge out into Burrard Inlet with @catbobca, @peacock_joe_
• Ring in @intertidalkendy and @tamarashea88 ’s birthday with a day old SRKW baby
• Got my face blown up on the Burrard Bridge with @stand.earth to raise awareness about shipping pollution (more to come on that later).

Oh yeah, and Way of Whales with @wa_orcanetwork , coastal insights with @orcawhales_and_other_tales, the BC Marine Mammal Symposium with @ubcmmru, the Ocean Film Festival @oceanfilmfestivalcanada, and probably a few others I’m forgetting.

Anyway, it’s been an absolute honor connecting you to The World of Orcas, and I’m looking forward to continuing to in 2025.

I can’t express enough gratitude to everyone who helps make this possible, and everyone in the Orca community for doing all the work they do. I can’t wait to tell more people about it.
