Chewe came to NYSA not knowing what his next step was. Two years later, he became an intern helping build what NYSA is and his reason for that shift says everything.

"When people help you, you have an obligation to help those that were in a similar position."

That's the NYSA cycle. We invest in our young athletes, and they grow into people who want to give back. That's not by accident, that's the culture we build.

The path of being a student-athlete is not an easy one. In our 1st episode of NYSA Podcast Chewe opens up about his struggles and how exactly have NYSA helped him navigate them.

One of the biggest ones in Chewe's journey was balancing his studies and his sport, in which NYSA played a pivotal role in navigating it.

Make sure to check the full episode on our YouTube.

There comes a moment in every athlete's journey where the path forward isn't clear. For Chewe, that moment came when he was in the USA where he was questioning whether football would ever be a serious part of his life again. That's when NYSA came into his life.

What followed was more than just an opportunity to play football in Sweden. NYSA provided Chewe with a full support system, dedicated training programs, a personal gym instructor, and access to Catapult performance technology to track and analyse every session and more. The kind of structure that doesn't just develop athletes, it develops people.

Because at NYSA, it has never just been about sports. It's about giving student-athletes the tools, the ecosystem, and the belief to see exactly how far they can go.

From Zambia to Germany, to the USA, and finally to Sweden, Chewe Mukuka's path to becoming a student-athlete was anything but simple.

There was a period where football felt like it was slipping away. No club, no clear next step, just uncertainty. Then NYSA reached out and everything changed.

Through NYSA's programs, structure, and support, Chewe found the balance between football and education that so many young athletes struggle to find. The right environment makes all the difference, and for Chewe, that environment was NYSA.

His full Athlete Journey is now live on our YouTube channel. Link in bio 🎙️
