NEW BIKE DAY!!! Every so often the stars line up and take you to someplace that is unbelievably nice, today was that day! This was my first ride on my 1st new bike in over a decade and it was just AMAZING!!! This @iamspecialized_road #TarmacCompSL8 from @thebikeshophawaii was such a pleasure to experience on our usual #flattuesday from town to Hawaii Kai tonight after work!!! The #shimanoultegradi212speed was lightening-fast & precise. The 30mm Specialized tires pumped up to the recommended 62/64psi pressure from the @silca_velo #tirepressurecalculator was spot on! After bedding-in the disc brakes the braking modulation was very smooth & solid!!! The bike was super-responsive & cornered like it was on rails. All in all I couldn't ask for anything better!!! Huge mahalo to: our team sponsor The Bike Shop; @cnethercuttv the Shop Manager whose good-counsel & extreme patience was amazing; GM Mel who totally took care if me; to Ben Williams from @hitricenter who did my fit at the shop (he's the best!); and finally to all the shop's techs who made sure everything was perfectly adjusted and the chain perfectly waxed with #silcachainwaxingsystem !!! Smooth-as-butter!!! WOW!!! So Stoked, great #newbikeday today, with the Flat Tuesday crew!!! @paweena_greg_robison @banzai593 #TradewindStrong #FlyTradewindBlue @ilgelatohawaii @mochifoods

Today marks @mkharunaga's 10 year anniversary at @hblridealoha! I remember interviewing you for the adult education coordinator role in 2014... 10 years has flown by! The many bike rides, the office pups, the free cone days, the french fries, the tabling events, the phone banks, the uphill races, and so much more... And I'm so glad you're still here as HBL's Director of Adult Education! The energy you bring is awesome. The focus and dedication is inspiring. The years of organizational knowledge is so helpful. Keep it up. Here's to the next decade!

I went into this event for kicks and grins, expecting to put up a fight against strong competitors on TT bikes. We made up our aero losses with power, a plan and then some selfless riding.

But I was not confident. Just want four men out and four men back.

Then we lost Tyler. No panicking. Put it into the pedals and trust one another.

We won by only 12 seconds.

It hurt so good! 🤙🏼

All credit to Tyler @tenspeedhero and @cnethercuttv - that was kinda painful!
