🙌 October's LN Legends features our hardworking local nationals at the unaccompanied housing department.

The unaccompanied housing team is one of the first stops junior service members make when arriving to the installation, and the local nationals ensure that they are comfortable at their home away from home 🇪🇸

Bridging the past and present at Naval Station Mayport! ⚓️🇺🇸

We were honored to welcome veterans from the Destroyer Tender Reunion Group today as they toured USS Ramage (DDG 61).

Former shipmates from USS Sierra (AD 18), USS Prairie (AD 15), and USS Puget Sound (AD 38) came together right here at Mayport to reconnect and look back on their days of sailing the deep blue sea!

Thank you for your service, legacy, and ongoing camaraderie!

⚓🇺🇸 Florida State Representative Kim Kendall visited Naval Station Mayport to get a first-hand look at the best base in the DoW! As a former FAA Air Traffic Controller, she had a special interest in aviation operations, so we were excited to showcase our airfield and provide an inside look at the critical capabilities that support our military mission.
During her visit, she also toured USS Indianapolis (LCS 17), where met with crew members, learned about the ship’s mission and the Warfighters who keep it ready.
⚓🇺🇸 Thank you, Rep. Kendall for taking the time to visit and learn more about our Warfighters, capabilities, and missions that support or Nation’s maritime defense!

A historic day at Naval Station Rota⚓🇪🇸

The arrival of USS John Basilone (DDG 122) marks another exciting chapter in the history of Naval Station Rota. Yesterday, we celebrated the arrival of our sixth Arleigh-Burke class guided-missile destroyer now homeported at Naval Station Rota.

The welcome ceremony was attended by key leadership, including the Spanish Minister of Defense Margarita Robles, U.S. Ambassador to Spain Benjamín León Jr. and Vice Adm. Jeffrey T. Anderson, commander of U.S 6th Fleet.

The addition of DDG 122 reinforces the vital role of forward-deployed forces in preserving maritime security. Together alongside our Spanish allies, we give them a warm welcome to their new homeport!

To the Sailors and families of USS John Basilone, welcome to the #TeamRota family!

⚓🇺🇸 Today, the USS Dewey Reunion Association visited Naval Station Mayport to get back to their roots and tour USS Farragut (DDG 99). The group of old salts included crew members from the whole period that USS Dewey was in existence.
⚓🇺🇸 As a precursor ship to the Aegis-class destroyers, USS Dewey was commissioned as DLG-14 in 1959 and in June 1975, she was redesignated as DDG-45. Her decommission took place in 1990. USS Dewey was the 9th Farragut-class destroyer (also known as the Coontz class), and was named in honor of Admiral George Dewey. She was the third of four ships whose namesake was Admiral Dewey with the ship’s motto being “The First and Finest.” ⚓🇺🇸 Huge Bravo Zulu to USS Farragut for hosting this group of Warfighters!!!!! We had so much fun with this group of salty Sailors!
