Quick video for a quick session. Squats not featured. Quite frankly, I have been struggling to manage my stress (my mind goes supersonic), so I am proud of myself for lifting at all.

Noticing my progress since starting with @allsouthbarbell is rewarding. Very much looking forward to the next clinic with @coach.andyc next month.

Grateful for a body that is able, and for a life so full of adventure and blessing that I stress about staying on track.

Audio by my besties in @honestgoodbyeband and they're performing in Atlanta next month ✨️

👑 I am the self declared king of taking time off and coming back to lifting but it’s also taught me a thing or two about how to do it 😉

1. Be patient. This doesn’t mean snatch 50% or the barbell for 2 weeks jfc god help us coaches for those of you that do that lol you didn’t lose all your muscle and capabilities in a 3 week vacation.

3. Actually listen to your body AND TRUST yourself - YOU are the one that put it through the “shit” before so YOU know what it’s capable of. If you are moving in the 2nd week coming back and feel like you can go a little more than do it so long it’s not your stupid ego

4. DO LESS WITH MORE. This is the secret sauce - pretend this is war and misses are the enemy. Your gun only has 30 rounds - if you just “spray and pray” you are gonna end up dead. Be on point and be on target 🎯 focus and be deliberate. You can joke around and have fun training but the second your foot hits wood be serious as fuck.

5. Stop fucking saying “it feels heavy” - no shit 💩
As Coach Bob Morris says “it’s WEIGHTlifting - NOT pillow lifting” you chose the sport and the body and brain listen to the shot you put out so audit that shit and get to work!

6. And literally the last one I’m posting and what the video is - ensure your setup is right and consistent - 90% of yalls issues is in the setup. Focus on this the most and all the rest will come or self fix I can almost guarantee it 😜
