Happy 18th birthday to my beautiful goddaughter, my Chels, my bean bum! @chelseydyer_ 🤍How do I even begin to put into words how special you are to me? Watching you grow from a little baby into the beautiful, strong young woman you are today has been one of the greatest privileges, and I couldn’t be prouder of you. You have the purest heart, the most beautiful soul, and, of course, your dad’s wild side! 😂I know he would be looking down on you today with so much pride, smiling at the incredible young woman you have become. Always remember, my girl, no matter how grown up you get, you’ll always be my Chels, my bean bum. I love you more than words can say. Happy 18th, my girl. ❤️

Another successful boxing event, another massive step forward for KZN boxing!🇿🇦🥊

With an incredible turnout, huge attendance, and an atmosphere filled with passion, dedication, and community spirit, this event was a true celebration of the sport we love.
Beyond the fights, we are building opportunities for young athletes, developing future champions, bringing communities together, and creating a platform where boxing can thrive.
This is bigger than winning fights; it’s about building a legacy, uplifting our communities, and giving our fighters the recognition they deserve.
A massive win for KZN boxing! Together, we keep growing, developing, and moving forward. The future of boxing is in our hands! HUGE SHOUTOUT TO THE SPONSORS FOR MAKING THIS EVENT POSSIBLE!

My little brother @coach_jonty_boxing I’ve taught you everything I know about boxing, loyalty, and integrity, but watching the man you’ve become is something that makes me incredibly proud. You’re not just my little brother; you’re my right-hand man in business, someone I trust with my life, and a part of my family in every sense of the word. We’ve built something special together, and I’m grateful to have you standing beside me through everything. Never forget where we started or what we stand for. I’m proud of you, brother, and I’ll always have your back. 🥊🤍

My son, my pride, raised with manners, respect, and a good heart, but never one to be messed with, especially being an amateur champion boxer! Then there’s my beautiful wild child daughter, fearless, full of attitude, and with a spirit fierce enough to scare entire armies! They are so different, yet both have a piece of my heart that nobody else could ever replace.

My children and their mother are my world, my happiness, and my reason for everything. Without them, life wouldn’t be worth living. They are my greatest blessing, my biggest love, and my forever family. ❤️

“Let your hands do the talking, your discipline win the rounds, and your humility define the champion. Every fight is a lesson, every victory a reason to stay grounded, and every new round a chance to grow.”

One of the biggest misunderstandings in boxing is confusing a punch being thrown with a punch actually landing. When a boxer throws a punch and it gets blocked, parried, slipped, or defended, the noise you hear is often the glove making contact with the opponent’s guard. That sound does not automatically mean a scoring punch has landed!

Boxing is not about making the loudest noise, throwing the most punches, or getting the biggest reaction from the crowd. It is about effective, clean punching, defence, ring generalship, and controlling the contest according to the applicable scoring criteria.

Coaches in the corner have a responsibility to educate their boxers, not create the illusion that every punch thrown is a successful one. Shouting and celebrating every time a glove hits an opponent’s guard can mislead a boxer into believing they are scoring when, in reality, their opponent may be defending effectively.

A blocked punch is not the same as a clean scoring punch.

As coaches, we must teach our fighters to recognise the difference between activity and effectiveness. Boxing is a technical sport, and understanding what scores is just as important as knowing how to throw a punch.

Respect the sport, respect the judges, and respect the art of boxing. 🥊
