Throwback Thursday to a defensive leader

Dustin Holmes was one of the most productive linebackers of his era, anchoring the Tigers’ defense with toughness, consistency, and a knack for making game-changing plays.

A graduate of Tecumseh High School and Springfield native, Holmes finished his career with 303 tackles, including 115 stops as a senior, while adding interceptions, sacks, forced fumbles, and tackles for loss throughout his four-year career.

After earning Second-Team All-NCAC honors in 2015, Holmes elevated his game in 2016, collecting First-Team All-NCAC, First-Team All-North Region, All-American, and the prestigious Hank Critchfield Award as the NCAC Defensive Player of the Year.

Before arriving at Wittenberg, Holmes starred in both football and basketball at Tecumseh, earning All-Conference, All-Region, All-State honors, and Defensive Player of the Year recognition during his high school career.

Today, Holmes continues to serve his community as a General Manager with Stanley Steemer, carrying the same work ethic and commitment that defined his playing days.

Sideline to sideline.
