Introducing ArtBridge, a teen-led nonprofit creating opportunities for young people to explore their creativity, discover new art styles and develop their skills!

In collaboration with CoachArt, a nonprofit organization that provides free arts and athletics lessons to youth facing serious or chronic illnesses, we aim to serve disadvantaged youth.

Through completely free lessons led by high school students, younger kids will learn from mentors who share their passions in music, film, photography, visual art, fashion design, theater, craft-making and more.

Grateful for programs like @coachartorg 🙏 Nova receives 1 on 1 lessons in drawing and arts & crafts on Wednesdays & Thursdays. Christopher her drawing coach comes to the hospital to see her & Vivianna (arts & crafts) is through a zoom call. Nova really enjoys her time with them and we only started this a month ago. There are so many other subjects to choose from, they even have cooking classes for when she returns home. Thank you @coachartorg ✨#coachart #arttherapy #childrenshospitallosangeles

Happy National Nonprofit Day! 🌟

Non-profit organizations are constantly pushing progress. Our LA2050 Ideas Hub, with more than 6,000 ideas for a better LA, is proof of that. To celebrate, we’re highlighting some of our most recent LA2050 Grants Challenge winners, and the ways they’ve been making a difference across Los Angeles.

The grantee cohort is finding new ways of uplifting their community members, like @neococo_collective’s Threads of Resilience exhibit at @goetheinstitut_losangeles. They’re increasing impact across demographics, like @lacompost’s Magic Soil Bus expansion to schools, teen centers, and dance studios. They’re stewarding a safer, more prepared LA, like @advancecaregivers’ recent emergency and disaster training programs for caregivers.

That’s just getting started with our incredible cohort members,and we’re thankful for all our grantees today, and every day. Cheers to the non-profit leaders, board members, staff members, and volunteers who make it all possible: Los Angeles wouldn’t be the same without you.

When Zoé was 14 years old, she made me promise that when she reached the incredible milestone of graduating high school, I’d be there. (And not embarrass her 😈)

@athenafoundationarts So happy to have Victoria Gavia from CoachArt.org join us at our ‘Bach to Rach’ concert. They provide creative services to families impacted by severe childhood illness. Linda Wehrli’s art and music school, Pastimes for a Lifetime has been providing free art classes to CoachArt families since 2002. Athena now provides free admission to their concerts to CoachArt families. #community

“Children who once felt isolated begin to participate more fully, take pride in learning new skills, and feel connected to peers who understand similar realities. This sense of belonging is one of the most powerful parts of the model, because it allows children to feel not excluded or accommodated, but simply like kids again.”

We checked in with our 2025 grantees to learn how their funded programs, projects, and initiatives are progressing – and to better understand the impact they’re making across Los Angeles. Now, we're excited to share these interviews, with stories of growth, challenges, and community transformation.⁠
