Seven months ago I walked off my first HYROX course. Open division, 1:20:29 and knowing I had work to do. The gap between what I thought I could handle and what the race actually demanded? Brutal wake-up call.

Tonight I walked off in 1:16:28. Four minutes faster and IN THE PRO DIVISION

What was the difference? I took my prep into my own hands. Programmed my own training. 4 months of trusting I could keep bias out of the equation and prepare myself appropriately. More running volume, more running speed, more intentional work than I’d done before and trusting myself even when I couldn’t fully see how it would translate until now.

But here’s what I wasn’t prepared for: The power of my community!

I came in carrying their expectations, worried they thought Pro division was cooler than it actually is to me. Afraid I’d mentally quit mid-race and let them down.

Instead? Their presence became something else entirely. Every time I hit a station, every time the suffering spiked, I could FEEL them there. Not as pressure, as FUEL. They weren’t just watching. They were WITH ME in ways I didn’t know I needed until I was in it.

Not once did I want to quit. My mind stayed sharp through all eight stations. My body remembered: ā€œWe trained for harder than this.ā€ My community held space for me to discover what I’m actually capable of.

This isn’t my ceiling. Top 3 in age group by 2028, then Worlds - that’s where I’m headed. This race was **data collection** for that journey. And the data is clear:

The training works. The protocol holds. And I can trust myself more than I did before this race.

To everyone who showed up: you have no idea how much it mattered. You weren’t just spectators. You were part of what carried me through.

Protocol validated. Community activated. Peace found. Journey continues.

ONE DAY AT A TIME

On to the next one.

It’s not about the failure - it’s about the response

My 30th birthday was one for the books. I trained for over 6 months for this 30 for 30 challenge, and while things didn’t go exactly how I imagined, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Walking the last 5.5 miles definitely wasn’t on my bingo card… but there was never a doubt I’d finish.

I’m beyond grateful to the people who showed up, ran beside me, and pushed me through. I truly couldn’t have done it without you. Your support meant the world and more than you’ll ever know.

We keep going. Always.
