🚨 CLASS OF 2028 — NOVEMBER COULD BE AN IMPORTANT MONTH FOR YOUR RECRUITMENT!

November 11th marks the beginning of the signing period for the Class of 2027, and what happens over the following weeks could influence recruiting opportunities for the Class of 2028.

Here’s why…

College golf coaches are making some important roster decisions.

✅ 2027 Recruiting Commitments: Not every recruit will accept the offer they’ve received. Coaches may need to revisit their recruiting boards or reconsider how they use available roster spots.

✅ The Transfer Portal: Coaches may decide to pursue experienced college golfers rather than immediately offer an available position to a high school recruit.

✅ PGA TOUR University: College seniors projected to finish in the Top 10 may choose to pursue PGA TOUR or Korn Ferry Tour status rather than return for a fifth year of eligibility. Those decisions could create additional roster openings.

✅ The Class of 2028: As coaches gain more clarity about their 2027 rosters, some may begin placing greater emphasis on evaluating and recruiting players in your class.

HERE’S SOMETHING EVERY JUNIOR GOLFER NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND:

Just because a college golf team has an available roster spot DOES NOT mean the coach is required to fill it.

And an available roster position doesn’t automatically mean a scholarship will be offered.

Coaches have options, and their recruiting priorities can change.

SO WHAT SHOULD THE CLASS OF 2028 BE DOING RIGHT NOW?

Keep improving your tournament results, update your recruiting materials, communicate with programs that interest you, and make sure coaches know who you are.

You don’t want to find out a coach was looking for someone with your abilities after they’ve already made their recruiting decisions.

BE PROACTIVE. BE PREPARED. STAY ON THEIR RADAR.

If you’re a Class of 2028 junior golfer who wants to better understand the recruiting process and where opportunities may exist, I’d welcome the opportunity to help.

I’m excited to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of South Carolina Beaufort!

I want to thank my personal coach, Coach Jonathan Bowden, for all the time, effort, and support he has put into helping me grow as a golfer. I also want to thank Coach Cottrell and Coach Fritzinger at USCB for believing in me and giving me this opportunity.

Go Sand Sharks! 🦈

Staying on a college coach’s radar requires more than simply sending an introductory email and hoping for a response.

You don’t need to shoot 65, win a tournament, or have a major accomplishment every time you reach out to a college coach.

Sometimes, a quick check-in, an update on your recent tournament performances, or a thoughtful message expressing your continued interest in their program is enough to keep the conversation moving forward.

The key is being proactive, consistent, and intentional with your communication.

College golf recruiting is about more than scores and rankings. It’s also about developing relationships, demonstrating genuine interest, and giving coaches reasons to continue evaluating you as a potential addition to their team.

Don’t make the mistake of waiting until you have the “perfect” reason to reach out.

Be proactive. Stay engaged. Make sure coaches know you’re interested.

We work directly with junior golfers and their families to help them better understand the recruiting process, develop an effective strategy, and communicate with college coaches throughout their recruiting journey.

How To Make A Swing Change:

One crucial lesson for all serious golfers is this: If you’re committed to making a swing change, stop focusing on where the ball goes during practice sessions until the change is fully ingrained. Instead, make movement data your only feedback for every rep. Using tools like video analysis, training aids, bio-feedback, or a launch monitor can be invaluable in this process.

Why is this shift so important? Ball flight can easily distract you, especially when you’re working on a new movement pattern and hitting some interesting shots. Letting that distract you will only sidetrack your progress toward the improvement you’re after. So, if you have a specific swing change goal, turn that goal into measurable data using technology, and rely on that feedback for every swing. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you can make the change. Once it’s consistent, you can return to focusing on outcomes and performance training.

With that in mind, know that my coaching programs are designed for those who are ready to commit to a personalized plan, practice with intention, utilize feedback, and stay open to coaching. This approach is about real, lasting improvement rather than a quick band-aid fix’s. #golf #golfcoach @evanmcrooks @jacksontucker28 @stilln.08 @phoebe.hiner @zoeybuckets @zadie_bug_dog_life @zella_meldrum @mettomaffia @kadimeldrum @coachdurrett @coachbowden @labrossman @thereserveclubatwoodside @woodsidecountryclub @tstinner @silvia.stinner @ty.mcclain.3

Power in the golf swing comes from a seamless sequence of movements, where each part of your body fires in the correct order. Proper sequencing—starting from the ground up—ensures that energy is transferred efficiently from your legs, through your core, and into the club. Stability is equally crucial; a stable base allows you to maintain balance and control throughout the swing. Without stability, even the best sequence will lack power. Together, sequencing and stability create a swing that’s both powerful and repeatable, essential for consistent performance on the course. #golftraining #golfswingsequence #golfstability #juniorgolfdevelopment @trueaiken @evanmcrooks @phoebe.hiner @zadie_bug_dog_life @zoeymeldrum @coachdurrett @coachbowden @pingtour @cordleb @thetourua @thereserveclubatwoodside
