JUST A LIL COMPETITION — ROUND ✌🏼

It was never just about lifting weights, winning a competition, or being the strongest woman in the room.

It was about showing up. For ourselves. For each other. For women we may have never even met before today.

It was about being reminded that there's room for all of us to be strong, to be celebrated, and to feel like we belong.

Because sometimes all it takes is a room full of bad@ss women cheering you on to remind you of what you're capable of.

This. This is why we do it.

Lo & I are so incredibly grateful for every single one of you. Thank you for showing up, believing in what we're building, & allowing us to live out our purpose.

We couldn't do this without you. 💕

Over the years a lot has changed
My lifestyle
My responsibilities
My goals.

I’ve had days that I was mad I didn’t get 500 pounds off the ground
I’ve had days that the thought of lifting 500 pounds terrifies me.

I’ve had days that I hit a PR on 3 hours sleep, a chicfila sandwich and an energy drink,
I’ve had days that I can’t stand up straight because I hurt my back tying my shoes.

I’ve had days that I didn’t want to train.
I’ve had days that I skipped training.
But I’m doing my best.
That’s all we ever ask.

Bring your best.

Sometimes it’s hitting a PR, sometimes it’s just putting one foot in front of the other and checking off your responsibilities.

There are different levels to “your best.”
My best today is not the same as my best yesterday.

Keep giving your best. Whatever it is.

It matters.

It’s making a difference.

I’m proud of you.

We added more HYROX engine classes. More opportunities to build your engine Monday/Wednesday evenings 7-8pm and Tuesday/Thursday mornings 7-8am.

The Engine classes are more than just the workout. It’s a way to keep working when things get uncomfortable. And a way to level up your fitness and life, whether you’re racing in HYROX or not.

The biggest part is the people in the room. Show up at whatever level you’re at. Just start. Work hard. And leave feeling better than when you walked in.

The goal wasn’t to create another workout. It’s to create a place surrounded by people who want to build a higher standard for themselves. Build confidence. And show that you’re capable of much more, in an environment that brings more out of you. The energy is unreal.

Build momentum. Become someone more resilient. Not just by one workout, but by building something better over time both physically and mentally.

Come find your time. Come try a class and see what it’s about. Come join the team of like minded people. Engines are here to stay.

Huge thank you @cinchhousemarketing for capturing this class. There is so much in the room that is can only be captured by the energy, the people, and what the Engine classes are truly about.

Comment or message us if you’ve been thinking about it and want in.

New month. New schedule. Same standard.

The fall schedule is live and here’s what changed:

Athlete classes are back to the evenings now that school’s in session.

HYROX Engine has a second home: Mondays and Wednesdays at 7pm. If you watched our crew tear up DC last weekend and thought “I want in,” this is your class.

New 7am adult group training time MWF. Get it done before the day gets a chance to get in the way.

A couple of these are new for the fall, so we’re trying them out. Show up and they stick around.

Don’t forget about our Athlete Combine 9/26!! Bring your best, see where you stand, and leave with real usable data!

See you at the club!

Tomorrow starts the 2026-2027 HYROX season and couldn’t be more excited to send off NINE people from our engine team to their race in DC this weekend

There has been so much work put in to get here. The Engine has truly become a family. And whether you’re racing this weekend, in the future, or come to class to build your fitness.. every person has continuously shown up to push themselves and cheer each other every session, and has built an unbreakable bond.
The impact this group has on community and in their own lives is something incredible to see grow. Truly couldn’t be more proud to go watch them crush their race

This is it. It’s time for the victory lap. Smile!!! Have fun, take it all in. and more than anything, trust the work that’s been put in. No more work left to do. It’s game time. Goodluck. LETS GET IT!!!

Telling a young athlete to “run fast” doesn’t always make them run fast.

Give them something to compete for? Now we’re getting somewhere.

One of the biggest things we want out of speed training with our younger athletes is INTENT.

We can coach mechanics. We can teach positions. We can work starts, acceleration and change of direction.

But at some point, they have to learn how to actually GO.

In this drill, the coach calls out a cone, the athletes race to grab the ball and then race it back to fill their bucket.

Simple. Competitive. Fun.

And watch these two.

They aren’t thinking about shin angles or arm action. They aren’t being told to “give me 100%.”

They’re trying to beat each other.

You can literally see them find another gear as the race gets tighter. By the end, they’re diving to be the first one to get the ball in the bucket.

That’s intent.

For youth athletes, competition can be one of the best speed coaches in the room.

It creates urgency.
It creates effort.
It teaches them to react.
It exposes them to accelerating and decelerating at speeds they may not reach during a scripted drill.
And most importantly, it makes them WANT to move fast.

That doesn’t mean every speed drill needs to be a race. Technique still matters.

But we can’t spend all our time teaching kids what fast movement should look like and forget to give them opportunities to actually experience moving fast.

Sometimes the best cue for a young athlete isn’t “run faster.”

It’s…

“First one back wins.”

Then get out of the way and let them compete.
