The first-ever Pickle & Pints Community Classic is officially in the books.

Congrats to our celebrity champs, Robbie Hummel and his dad, Glenn, who defeated Max in the final to double their donation and send $20,000 to PAWS Chicago. We probably should’ve mentioned beforehand that Glenn is a literal professional pickleball player, but that feels like a problem for next year.

More than anything, thank you to everyone who showed up for us. Whether you played, sponsored, volunteered, donated, or just came to hang out and support the Foundation. Seeing this many people come together for something we created means more to us than we can put into words.

We’ll see you back on the courts next year 💚

Had an absolute blast at the @maxstrusfamilyfoundation Pint x Pickleball Charity Event @chicagopickle. Took home the title and got to hang with two absolute Blue Demon legends, @maxstrus and @coachholtmann! Beautiful day for a beautiful cause.

SCOUTING REPORT #009: MARK BARTELSTEIN 🥒🍻

The contract negotiations are over. He’s in.

Priority Sports CEO Mark Bartelstein is officially joining the field at Pickle & Pints. No pickleball resume yet, but we’re sure he’ll find a way to negotiate around that.

SCOUTING REPORT #010: CHRIS HOLTMANN

New court. Same game plan.

DePaul Head Coach Chris Holtmann is IN. The clipboard is staying home — we’ll see how the in-game adjustments translate to pickleball.

SCOUTING REPORT #011: ROBBIE HUMMEL

6’8”. Former NBA player. 3x3 World Champion.

Robbie Hummel is in. Plenty of experience on the court — unfortunately, none of it involved a paddle.

SCOUTING REPORT #012: MILES BOYKIN

We’ve got another actual athlete. This is getting concerning.

Former NFL wide receiver and Notre Dame standout Miles Boykin will be joining us. High school gym class pickleball champion? The resume speaks for itself.

Last week marked five years of camp.

It’s hard to put into words what this week has become and how much it means to me. What started as an idea to give back to the community I grew up in has turned into something bigger than I ever could have imagined.

None of it happens without my family. They’ve believed in every crazy idea and every dream I’ve had from the beginning, and somehow always find a way to help bring them to life. I’m incredibly lucky to have them by my side through all of this.

And to everyone who has supported me and this camp over the last five years. THANK YOU. To our campers, families, coaches, volunteers, sponsors, teammates, friends, and this entire community, you’ve embraced this week and made it what it is.

This will always be home. Being able to come back every summer, spend a week with all of you, and give back to the place that gave so much to me is something I’ll never take for granted.

Five years went by pretty fast. I’m just really grateful we get to keep doing this 💚
