A good stance isn’t just about being balanced and structured. It’s about preparing the body for what comes next.

Just like we bend our knees to prepare for an explosive movement, we need to think about how we’re priming our hands 🧤

Here Nate and I are working on priming the elbows slightly in front of the body, giving the hands a little more freedom to take a clean route toward the puck.

Small details, but especially with younger goalies, these are important habits to start building early.

🚨 STOP hitting 20 balls in a row working on the same swing feel!

Just because you can repeat a movement on the driving range doesn’t mean you’ve actually learned it.

One of the biggest mistakes golfers make is confusing short-term performance with long-term learning.

You might be striping it on the range, but can you reproduce that movement tomorrow? Next week? On the 18th hole with something on the line?

That’s where HOW you practice becomes so important.

⛳ Try the 3-BALL RULE.

Work on a specific feel for just 3 balls before changing your focus or practice condition.

The goal? Improve RETENTION and TRANSFER so the changes you’re making in practice actually show up on the golf course.

Don’t just practice to hit better shots. Practice to become a better player.

💬 What’s harder for you: making a swing change or taking that change to the course?

📌 SAVE this for your next range session!

Small, intentional adjustments paired with immediate feedback.

Helping goalies connect what they see with what they feel, so those adjustments become movement patterns they can consistently reproduce.

A pretty powerful way to learn and develop.

⛳️Easiest Way To Improve Your Chipping ⛳️

Getting better at chipping mean learning to control your low point and contact. Proper contact makes distance and land spot control much easier.

Work on skipping a your wedge across an alignment stick to develop consistent strike location and control.

How I used to teach ball position, and why I changed. 📐

When I was trained to coach, we measured ball position through the feet. For years, that’s how I did it. But the most precise reference is the left shoulder.

The center of the swing is just below the acromion bone on the left shoulder. Set up with your shoulders slightly protracted, then drop a ball straight down from that spot. That’s 0 ball position. One ball back is B1, two balls back is B2, and so on.

In this video, I break it down with a two-time high school state champion @preston_ordnung , so you can see what it looks like in a great swing.

Young pros, here’s your challenge: pull up your own swings and your students’ swings, and practice seeing ball position through the left shoulder instead of the feet. It’s a skill, and it takes reps.

Big thanks to @andy_plummer , @stackandtilt , and @manavian for helping me understand this better. 🙏

It’s hard. That’s the point.

A better golf swing doesn't guarantee better conditions.

Pressure, adversity, and unexpected challenges are part of competing.

The question isn't whether you'll face them. It's whether you've prepared yourself to navigate them.

The storm doesn't determine the strength of your foundation. It reveals it.

LEARN. APPLY. BUILD.

Sometimes the next level isn't waiting on another skill. It's waiting on a different version of YOU.

Something I've noticed in golf is that players sometimes struggle to utilize a good caddie, not because the caddie lacks knowledge, but because the player doesn't fully understand their own game or how to receive that guidance.

But a great caddie doesn't need you to be a great player to help you. They meet you where you are and help you get the most out of what you're capable of doing.

Life isn't much different.

We get so caught up in developing the skills necessary to reach the next level that we forget something important.

The next level doesn't just expose our abilities. It exposes who we are internally.

Our pride. Our insecurities. Our inability to receive correction. Our discomfort with not knowing.

Sometimes those things hold us back more than our actual skill level.

And sometimes the very people God has placed in our lives to help us grow are the ones we push away because they challenge those uncomfortable areas.

Whether it's a spouse, coach, mentor, or caddie, we have to learn to receive the people and wisdom placed in our corner.

You don't have to be great to receive great guidance.

Be comfortable knowing you don't know everything. Be okay with where you are while remaining willing to grow.

Because sometimes what's keeping you from the next level isn't what you need to learn.

It's what you need to allow yourself to become.

Dialling the wedge game with @k33b3r.

Recent rounds had highlighted that mid wedge distance control was off and affecting scoring opportunities.

This can often be linked to flight itself, a higher launching, lower spinning shot can be useful around the greens but not as ideal from further out.
A focus on desired impact and chat on how movement prior to impact can encourage or hinder desired impact and improvement was quick.
Focus was very external and simplistic, yet club delivery improved greatly as did flight control.
Slide 5 is a good indicator on how club delivery changed whilst the objective data reinforced the feels (slide 6 & 7) 👌

I’ve been working with @christianvicari11 for about 2 and a half months now, and the progress he’s made in his swing has been incredible! 👏⛳️

We’ve been focusing on improving his takeaway, creating better connections and building a more consistent and efficient golf swing.

He’s been working his ass off, putting in the time and effort and it’s really starting to show! Still plenty to work on, but this is what happens when you trust the process.
