MINNESOTA MONSTERS NAME WILLIE HOWARD HEAD COACH 📍 Duluth, Minn. | August 11, 2026 The Minnesota Monsters are proud to announce that Willie Howard has been named Head Coach, effective immediately. Howard will continue serving as the organization’s General Manager, taking on dual leadership responsibilities for football operations and on-field performance. “Willie has demonstrated the leadership, football knowledge, and commitment needed to build the Minnesota Monsters into a winning organization,” said Owner Jacob Lambert. “By expanding his role to Head Coach while he continues as General Manager, we are putting a clear and unified vision in place for our players, staff, fans, and partners.” As General Manager and Head Coach, Howard will oversee: 🏈 Roster construction 🏈 Player personnel 🏈 Coaching staff development 🏈 Game preparation 🏈 Overall football operations and competitive direction The structure will also allow the Monsters’ offensive and defensive coordinators to focus entirely on developing and maximizing their respective units, while Howard manages the broader football operation and ensures the organization remains aligned. “I am grateful to Jacob Lambert and the Minnesota Monsters organization for the opportunity and confidence,” Howard said. “Our focus begins immediately: establishing a disciplined, physical, and exciting brand of football that Minnesota can be proud to support.” Howard also emphasized his continued commitment to Cooper High School and the Robbinsdale Area Schools District 281 community, where he will continue investing in students, families, athletics, and the community while leading the Monsters. “Both roles are about people, relationships, accountability, developing leaders, and creating a standard people can believe in,” Howard said. “It gives me an opportunity to lead in two spaces that I am passionate about.” The Minnesota Monsters will announce additional football operations updates, including coaching staff, player personnel, and team developments, in the coming weeks.
