Did you know? Only 10% of commercial airline pilots are women? 👩‍✈️✈️

Source: @FAA

At TXST Aviation, we’re proud to be part of an aviation industry with more women in the cockpit, the classroom, and every corner of the field. 💪

From aviation science to flight training and beyond, women continue to break barriers and make their mark across the industry.

San Diego’s newest flight instructor!!! 👩‍🏫 There are no words for this feeling. Getting to this checkride was some of the hardest work I’ve ever done and I’m sooooooooo happy it paid off today. The doubts and pain and tears and more tears were all worth it!!

Thank you to every one of my friends that listened to my lesson plans and made the best students! I couldn’t have done this without you 🫶

Now who wants to learn to fly!?!?

Would buying an airplane actually make flight training cheaper?

For most aspiring pilots, renting is the obvious choice.

But what if buying a trainer and selling it after earning your certificates actually reduced your total cost?

And what about building your own airplane?

In AFJ Case Study #006, we examined one of the most debated financial questions in aviation:

✈️ Rent an airplane
✈️ Buy a trainer
✈️ Build an Experimental-Amateur Built aircraft

Each path comes with different costs.

Different risks.

Different timelines.

And different opportunities.

The cheapest option isn’t always the one with the lowest hourly rate.

Sometimes the smartest financial decision is the one that creates the greatest long-term value.

Read the full case study through the link in our bio.

Question for the aviation community:

If you were starting flight training today, would you buy, build, or rent?

⬇️ Tell us why in the comments.
