Thank you to @riseandgrindsf for having us at their first ever Holiday Pop-Up Market! It was my first event in Oakland and the community came through with all the love I was not expecting 😭🖤

The owners V + V are badass and were holding down the fort with a baby in tow! 🤯 Seeing everyone working so hard and having so much love for one another made it one of my favorite events of the year. Made some new friends and felt like I was surrounded by family 🫶🏻

If you know of any events in Oakland PLEASE let me know so I can look into them for next year 🙏🏻

[ PART 2 / 2 ]

Each journey has its challenges. We’ve said goodbye to several remarkable souls along the way, who left us far too soon. We remember the magical Eddie Sanchez (slide 2), whose colorful garb and trademark tophat never failed to lift our spirits. To Cameron Kim (slide 3), who found solace and sanctuary right outside our front door, where he knew he was always welcome. And to Ronnie Goodman (slide 4), who survived the cold walls of San Quentin to share his incredible artistic gifts, unrelenting images of injustice in this land of plenty. But these three had something else in common. Even though they all left us far too soon - they remind us that hope never dies.

And that is our pledge, our promise to them, and so many others. This space, 1007-1009 Market Street, the former Luggage Store Gallery, remains a testament to the soul of the artist. Who, despite all the obstacles, still finds beauty and wonder, all around us. The new permanent home guarantees that those services — and the community that has grown around them — will continue to thrive.

This week’s ceremony was a culmination of struggle and sacrifice, but ultimately it was a celebration of community, partnership, and the power of art to transform lives. To everyone who contributed to this journey — from our supporters and campaign partners to the artists who make this space come alive — thank you for helping the Community Arts Program, and community artists, become a permanent fixture in the City of St. Francis.

A long overdue post to express our immense gratitude for the incredible 2025 Art Auction Planning Committee!

If you attended our 40th Annual Art Auction this past April, you experienced firsthand the magic that unfolded. THHE Auction always has that effect — it’s a space where creativity, community, and generosity intersect in the most inspiring ways.

In late August, we gathered with many of our committee members (though we’d be remiss not to mention Marissa, Britt, Kelsey, Haley, Cate, Jazzi, Ayni, Don, Guy, Renee, Arley, Cheyenne, or Nico who aren’t pictured but put a tremendous amount of heart into this event!) for an afternoon of great conversation, good company, and a stunning collection of artwork — all within the beautiful home of our dear friends and supporters, Joshua and Joel.

We love this group and are endlessly grateful for their dedication to Hospitality House and the community we serve.

Here are a few highlights from the THHE Live Auction @hospitalityhousesf , where I was honored to participate as an artist! It was a pleasure to donate my art to support nonprofit organizations that make San Francisco a better place. The auction was a spectacular experience!
