Before becoming part of the universal collective imagination, the Brothers Grimm’s fairy tales emerged from an oral tradition characterised by a darker, more moralistic side. In this editorial, these stories are reinterpreted through fashion, not as literal illustrations, but as visual metaphors.

Words. They mean everything to me: i work with them, learn with them, learn from them, express myself with them, flirt with them, evolve with them. They are my weapon of choice to lift others as well as to shield and defend and they are what I most like to resort to as a calling card, specially if it’s in the name of a good pun on a dad joke. When put to good use, words are connection, words are understanding, words are emotion, words are, truth be told, what makes as humans. This @vogueportugal’s Words issue is an homage to this power of vocabulary and all the platforms it uses to be unleashed, from poetry to prose. And I feel words are never enough to describe how incredible it is. ♥️ Shop.light-house.pt #vogueportugal #editorinchief @sofia.slucas #covercreativedirection @jsantana.esquire @lighthouse.publishing
