Opening night. ❤️✨

There are some experiences that remind you just how lucky you are to do what you do.

Bringing Memoirs of Amorous Gentlemen to life has been one of those experiences. This show is daring, delicious, unexpected, and filled with so much heart. I am endlessly grateful to be a part of it and to bring Madame to life.

There is also something deeply meaningful about carrying Duncan Sheik’s work forward. I wish he were here to experience this moment with us, but I hope he can feel the love, dedication, and whole hearts that have gone into bringing his vision to the stage.

Tonight, we celebrate the work, the people who bring it to life, and the privilege of getting to do what we love.
Thank you to Tim Marshall and Stewart Talent, Stevie Booth, Ryan Ratelle and Matt Cavenaugh for pushing me to take a leap of faith on this one…it has been a thrilling ride ❤️

Squigs Salutes: Memoirs of Amorous Gentlemen

“At The Night Egg, a humble Paris maison close, Colette would do anything to fulfill her clients’ desires. But when asked to write her own story, her words transform her from the observed to an observer. As the young dreamer turns perversions into art, chronicling the fantasies, confessions, and private sorrows of friends and customers, she becomes torn between her destructive attachment to a toxic love and her blossoming independence. Starring Sophia Anne Caruso as Colette and based on Moyoco Anno’s award-winning manga, Memoirs of Amorous Gentlemen is a daring new musical by two-time Tony Award winner Duncan Sheik and Peabody Award winner Leah Nanako Winkler, directed and choreographed by Tony winner Rob Ashford.” Joining Caruso are Cory Jeacoma, Nkeki Obi-Melekwe, Andy Bakun, Jenny Powers, Leanne Antonio, Kailin Brown, Michael Everett, Elsa Keefe, Jaedynn Latter, Austin Lesch, Nika Lindsay, Caleb Marshall, Jessie Peltier, Michael Starr, and Thomas Winter.. Running now through January 3 at Culture Club.
