We are so blessed to have this beautiful space to come together and celebrate life.

Breast cancer is an emotionally and physically exhausting journey—whether you're newly diagnosed, in the midst of treatment, or navigating life as a survivor. No matter where you are on the path, you are not alone.

This event is about community. It’s about soaking up the sunshine, moving our bodies, and reminding ourselves that healing happens in many forms—connection, movement, and shared purpose among them.

We invite you to join us. Let’s walk together in hope, strength, and solidarity.

The bridge was the first section I wrote for Cry About It. The only of my songs where the hook came to me last. The lyrics had such a fragile, frantic energy, I didn’t know what to do with them at first. I never intended for it to turn into “a banger” (but thank you to those of you who have kindly deemed it so, lol)

“I just think it’s funny how I end up taking all the punches, maybe if I have another drink I’ll finally feel something, other than heaviness in my chest, I’m a mess, sorry to disappoint you.”

Sorry to disappoint YOU…

I had that section in the footnotes, or what @ben.desoto refers to as my lyrical “graveyard” for Lie…throw away lyrics, too dark for the message I was sending at the time. I began Lie’s chorus (plus some) on my flight back from D.C. to Boston, Februrary of 2022, my senior year at Berklee. I was writing for a very specific audience member at the time. And he lapped it up, like a self obsessed stray dog dying of thirst. I didn’t run when I should have. I had to play the game. I was convinced I could best him in some way. Bend the rules. Lie better than the liar. I couldn’t see him as dangerous, I saw him as a challenge. I saw potential, where there was damage. A muse, where there was an abuser, and a man where there was an angry, sad, lost little boy.

We weren’t together, I released the song, we were together again. It made him feel powerful. It felt truer to his narrative. “When I ask you if you love me could you lie?” Of course he could. I’d made him feel wanted. I’d made him the prize. He showed it to everyone, played it at work, even. I became “hoodie girl” and “the girl who wrote the song” and for a while I was a novelty. Something he could show off. But it wasn’t enough to keep him. So, the cycle repeated. Only, my perspective changed.

Poser? Suffocate? Those, were too real. I painted him for what he REALLY was, only fair for him to take a swing. (didn’t think he’d go SO literal)

Only, my stories were true. And I made them fkg rhyme. His were just repackaged lies that cost us 4 years of our lives and hundreds of thousands of dollars. I wrote him in. I can write him out. He can #cryaboutit!

Cry About It!

now streaming.

All my love and most sincere gratitude to my producer & engineer Ben, @ben.desoto for tirelessly working and reworking this track with me, and being a rock throughout all of the events that inspired it. From the moment I wrote it @ Berklee in 2022, to our 111th (lol) bounce on your couch in LA…Thank you for hearing and seeing beyond the trauma to the heart of it: the story. the music. the truth. Thank you for sharing your gift with me.🎙️🖤

To @badsongbahn for your incredibly innovative additions to a track Ben and I had wrestled with for quite some time, and your refreshingly unique production style and perspective. 🩵🎧

To @alexwrightmastering for your endless support, exceptional mastering, and ridiculously fast turnaround.❣️💿

To my LOVELY Coco 🎀 @cocorusselll for creating the most beautiful, intricate album art. And for being YOU. You’re one of the few true angels in this city supposedly so full of them. I feel so blessed to have met you…ONE good thing to come from @bootsybellows 🪩 💋🪽

To JoJo and my distribution team at Sony Orchard - cheers to this and the next. thank you. for everything. 💜

It means the world to have you all on my team.

As for the canvas (Spotify Reel), I went a bit rogue. No shoot this time, though I tried. Nothing felt real enough. I realized, it was that I was attempting to recreate a trauma I experienced, without reliving it…and the vision I had - frankly required an A-list budget. I postponed. I procrastinated. Then it hit me.

I didn’t have to recreate it. I HAD it. Real footage…of exactly the results of the emotional and physical abuse that inspired this song. It’s edited and A & B-ed with footage of myself listening to the master alone in my new appt for the first time.

A bizarre feeling.

For once, I just couldn’t cry about it.
