💜 Getting SET for Give Miami Day 2026!

Last week, the Tinkerbell’s Kids team joined Miami’s nonprofit community at the Give Miami Day SET Summit - a day dedicated to learning, connecting, and preparing for one of Miami’s biggest days of generosity.

We left inspired with new ideas for sharing our story, strengthening our impact, and continuing to build a community that shows up for children and families impacted by parental incarceration.

A heartfelt thank you to the Miami Foundation @miamifoundation and Radical Partners @radicalpartners for bringing our nonprofit community together and giving us the tools to make every dollar, every story, and every connection count. 💜

We’re officially getting SET - and we’re so excited for what’s ahead!

📅 Give Miami Day | November 19, 2026

Together, we can continue creating safe, inspiring spaces where our children feel supported, empowered, and able to soar beyond adversity. 💛

Code/Art alum Anne-Sophie recently volunteered at a STEM Day hosted by Code/Art for children and families served by Silent Victims of Crime, an organization that supports young people impacted by parental incarceration.
It’s wonderful to see Anne-Sophie giving back, sharing her enthusiasm for STEM, and inspiring the next generation of creators!

💻🎨 Look at these masterpieces!

During our Family Unification Event at @bbbsmiami , our children explored creative coding with @codeartorg , bringing art and technology together to create their own original digital artwork. ✨

We love seeing their creativity come to life while being introduced to the possibilities of coding and computer science.

A heartfelt thank you to @codeartorg for creating this experience for our children, and to @bbbsmiami for welcoming our children and families into their space. 💙

So proud of all our young creators and their masterpieces! 🦋🎨

Some of the most meaningful conversations happen when we step outside the conference room and into the community. 👏

Recently, our team joined funders and supporters in visiting organizations across Miami to see their work firsthand, hear directly from community leaders, and deepen our understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing our neighborhoods.

We left inspired by the passion, creativity, and commitment of the people driving change every day, and grateful for the chance to learn alongside them.✨

💛 What an incredible day of creativity, learning, and connection!🩵

Our Tinkerbell’s Kids Family Unification Event brought our children together at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami @bbbsmiami for a day filled with art, creative coding, entrepreneurship, and wellness.

A heartfelt thank you to visionary @codeartorg for inspiring our children to think like artists, entrepreneurs, and builders - and for showing them that their ideas can come to life. 💻✨

We were also inspired by Maggie Shih, CEO of @sattakids_ , who encouraged our families to dream up business ideas around something they’re passionate about - helping our children see themselves as creators and future entrepreneurs. 💡

So much gratitude to amazing Bobby of @sosicdesigns , for sharing his time and talent and encouraging our children to explore their creativity through art, and to Midia & @myjoyacademy for bringing sound healing into the experience and creating a beautiful space for mindfulness, connection, and self-expression. 🎨🔔

We’re so grateful to @bbbsmiami for generously welcoming our families and continuing to be such a meaningful community partner.

And a big thank you to our long-time partner @uber for helping our families get to and from the event safely. 💙

To our incredible volunteers and everyone who showed up to support our children - THANK YOU❤️!! Your time, energy, encouragement, and willingness to be part of the village make these experiences possible.

This is what community looks like: coming together to give children opportunities to create, explore, learn, dream, and see what’s possible for their future.

Together, we’re helping our children soar beyond adversity. 🦋💙

Our first alumni spotlight is Salma Petrov! Hear about her story below:

My name is Salma Petrov and i’m a rising junior now at the University of Central Florida. This summer I was a returning Software Engineer Intern at Amazon in their HQ2 office in Arlington, Virginia. This year I was also elected into my new position as Corporate Vice President at the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) organization at UCF. My previous experience at Code/Art includes National and People’s Choice Finalist in 2023 for CodeYourself, Regional Finalist in 2024 for Changemaker, National Finalist in 2024 for CodeYourself and Game Design, Lead of Future Tech LeadHers at my high school 2023-2024 (School for Advanced Studies North Campus in Miami, FL), and Summer Camp Intern in 2023. Hopefully I got everything!! All my involvement in Code/Art really helped me jumpstart my career with technical experience and leadership skills in general. It’s so great to be a Code/Art alum and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
