Before you become part of a legacy, sometimes you spend years watching it from the outside. And Aaron Davis remembers exactly what that felt like.

Before Aaron Davis ever wore Code Black across his chest, he was watching from the outside. He was a spectator. A supporter. A fan of a team whose name already carried history long before his own became attached to it.

So when the opportunity finally came to call Code Black home, it was never something he took lightly. Four seasons later, Aaron has experienced some of the highest moments this sport can give an athlete… standing alongside his teammates as a three-time World Champion and becoming part of the very legacy he once admired from afar.

Earning a place in that legacy and understanding what it means to carry it are two different things.

His first year challenged him. The years that followed changed him. Somewhere between the practices, championships, friendships, growing pains, and everything that never makes it onto a competition floor, his understanding of what it meant to be a veteran changed too.

Being a veteran isn’t simply about how long you’ve stayed or how many times you’ve won. It’s knowing when to put your ego aside, be of service to the people around you, and understand that the standard you inherited is now partially yours to protect.

4 years. 3 World Championships. A lot of lessons learned along the way. Aaron doesn’t need his time on Code Black to be remembered as perfect… just as something he earned, something he grew through, and something he was proud to give a piece of himself back to.

Because the greatest part of becoming part of a legacy isn’t getting to say you were there. It’s knowing you contributed something while you were.
