The title song for my new album, OPAL, is out now along with a gorg video shot and directed by the endlessly talented, Cody Briggs @codeu

We shot this video in one Smokey afternoon out at Iona Beach in Vancouver, just Cody and I and a camera.

Opal is about the process of discovering that our experience of the world is inseparable from our experience of ourselves. What we notice, what we resist, and what moves us can all become reflections of our inner landscape. The song is a personal reminder that our strongest reactions often point toward something within us that deserves our attention, curiosity, and understanding.

Thrilled to share my new song '24hrs a Day' along with a beauty new video, shot and directed by my best bud and long time collaborator Cody Briggs @codeu

We shot this over three different nights in various parts of vancouver and wanted to approach the process with an experimental and not overly pre-planned vision, as that seems to be the way we create best together. The video attempts encapsulate the desire to escape the endless chaos of the world, to let go and be who you are without succumbing to what the world wants us to become.

Hope you all enjoy, lots more to come very soon.

Today is Indigenous people’s day.
🤍💛❤️🖤
and summer solstice 🌞
.
May we find ways to come together in understanding our land, our ways, our practices for us and future generations to come. 🪶
.
I am proud Néhiyaw Plains Cree from Mistawasis Nêhiyawak Treaty 6 in Saskatchewan.
.
I am here from my nohkom, who endured Residential school. My mother, aunties and uncles who were raised in the system and some in 60s scoop.
.
I grew up learning and being taught my heritage and what it’s like to be raised as a passing lighter skin, but dealing with the generational trauma that has been in our bloodline and navigating my place in this world and what I can do to help our people in some sort of form.
I am mixed and I only grew up knowing the Indigenous side of me. Navigating feeling like I don’t belong in this world from lateral violence, to my own self identity, I have always been thankful to come home to my family who knows and loves and accepts me for who I am. The teachings, the connection to Mother Nature. The land. The trees. 🪶
.
Meeting like minded individuals who see me for who I am to finding the balance of community within Indigenous culture and practice has been a new form of self discovery as well, our people have been here to be uplifting each other.
.
I grew up in not knowing the struggles my ancestors faced to have me on this earth, but I am thankful to be here for a purpose.
.
I am happy and proud to be Indigenous and thankful for the many opportunities I have to share any knowledge of our people share what I can do @innerwolfjewelry
. Learning from my family and aunties of being artistically visual and creating my visions, I am fortunate to be where I am today teaching people the bits of knowledge that was passed to me as well as what I carry in my heart and I appreciate anyone who’s supported me and my craft, my vision and my place in this world being Indigenous.
.
Today I’ll be at Grandview park for a mini pow wow and selling jewelry

This was a special exhibition we produced when we were in the depths of high Covid. At the time we were unable to physically enter exhibitions so we worked with doing an exhibit you could view through the window. In this solo exhibition @codeu photographic works explored ego and the notion of ‘self’ in 2021.

It still remains to be one of our favourite shows and truly made us take a step back and evaluate ourselves during this uncertain period of time.

Brigg’s created this series of photographic work for the “(ego)” Exhibition to investigate his relationship to ego and identity through the practice of self portraiture. By examining cliches of beauty and romance the artist wishes to navigate continuously into deeper sincerity and revelation. Brigg’s is consumed with intertwining modes of representation and investigating how they create and destroy the notion of a “Self”. He is drawn to what cannot be destroyed but only altered; seen from a different angle or reflection. Through examining and documenting his own impulses toward how he is represented, Brigg’s is confronted by his ever-present self.
