Just a guy and his vacuums y’know?
It was so so amazing to take a step back this weekend and come back to my favorite place ever. Whatever is going on, the solution is always just going back to camp. TYJ for the wonderful cabin of B9, the adventures and sidequests of Bro-Vac Zach, and the much needed peace I receive when I walk through those camp gates.

Me and Jonah are definitely THE camp barnabas cleaners/vacuumers and Zach’s best escorts. Every single time I get to do chores from now on, I will always think of vacuuming every surface at camp, spotify vacuum noises, and jumping around with Zach. Iykyk.

Barnabas is something I will forever be grateful for. A place filled with joy, laughter, and moments that reminded me of the beauty in serving and connecting with others. From fun activities to quiet reflections, every part of camp left me with memories that I’ll carry for a lifetime. The friendships I made and the encouragement I felt here created a community that truly felt like family. It was nice finding a brother through it all, a couple actually! I pray that opportunities arise where I can instill the lessons that I learned here upon others. I’m thankful for the love I experienced, and the way camp shaped me this summer in ways I didn’t expect but will never forget. Hope to be back next year..

I am broken. I am sinful. I am unworthy. I AM SAVED.

The things I could say about camp, are endless. Never have I truly felt this way about a place or people, I thank God daily for putting me in the position to recognize my sin and brokenness, but also confess it to others, I am on a path to freedom and I am forgiven. The world has a way of making you beat yourself down for your mistakes, but here, I grow and I learn with those around me, in ways I never could have imagined before. Thank you for everything Camp. 🫶🏼

שַׁבָּת Shabbat (v) — to cease, to rest

So if ya didn’t know over the past 8 weeks I was on Sabbatical! I rested. Rested in the Lord, and rested (poorly at times) from work. What a gift it was!

It was full of some of my favorite people and some of my favorite things. But the coolest thing was how the Lord met me in the midst of it. He reminded me He wants my presence, not my performance. He showed me the difference between being idle and being 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍. The difference between simply being stopped and being 𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍. Just being. Usually outside, shocker.

Shoutout to good hikes, great coffee, and life-giving company. All bookended by two soggy rounds of bad golf. Maybe the real Sabbatical is the friends you make along the way…

Also I had lame days, too! Remember, Insta is just a highlight reel.
