Some of the best parts of hunting happen long before and long after the shot. 🦌

In this episode of Reckoning, Cody and I sit down with Rivers to talk about his journey as a burn survivor, his love of hunting and the outdoors, and the story behind his Kansas whitetail hunt: The Hunt for Chainsaw—the story behind the buck and the experience that brought it all together.

Rivers was able to experience this hunt through @real.authentic.warriors and we’ll forever be grateful for the opportunity and the memories they helped create. ❤️

This conversation is a pretty damn good reminder that hunting is about so much more than the moment you pull the trigger.

🎙️ Rivers’ episode of Reckoning is out now. Listen or watch wherever you get your podcasts.

September, I’ve missed you. 🤎
Nothing slaps like a mountain nap with elk bugling in the background. . . Then it’s hard to nap because it’s too exciting.
@cody_long_1 knows how to get them fired up.

We finally showed my dad how the @ollincompany Nexus system works, and his reaction was exactly why we run it on all of our hunting tripods and gear!

No more fumbling with adapters. No more struggling to get set up. Easily switch between binoculars, spotting scopes, rifles, cameras, and more in seconds.

One of my favorite parts? We run the same system across multiple tripods, so we can move optics and gear from one tripod to another without missing a beat.

If you spend time glassing, hunting, shooting, or behind a spotting scope, this system is worth a look.

Plus, it makes taking care of your optics way easier. No more leaving them attached to the tripod and chucking the whole setup in the back of the truck with a hope, a prayer, and a rough road ahead.

Comment NEXUS and I’ll send you the link.

Utah youth turkey season was one the whole family got to be apart of this year 🦃

Kooper put in a ton of time hunting his unit this year. He learned from some of the best @teamgriswold72 — teaching us a thing or two after! Then when it happened, it happened FAST. Tagging his 4th turkey.

Rivers finally got to be the hunter after dreaming about this his “whole life!” and working hard to finish hunter safety before spring.

We had some fired up gobbles (hence his face), ups and downs of them playing games, big laughs, a hell of a play that ended in one LONG turkey pack out 😂 Totally worth it!

Watching your kids fall in love with the outdoors is hard to put into words. Grateful for the memories, the effort, and the time together.

Full YouTube vlog coming soon.

@cody_long_1 and I get real about what it’s like hunting together as a couple. From my dad inviting him on his very first antelope hunt when we had just started dating (talk about commitment 👀), to our craziest outdoor adventures, favorite memories, and the lessons we’ve learned after nearly 20 years in the field together.

We also share raw, honest tips for couples who want to hunt together without killing the vibe (or each other 🤣) + Cody opens up about his health and fitness journey that’s made a huge difference in the last 6 months.

🎯 If you’re an outdoor couple or want to hear behind-the-scenes of our hunts, this one’s for you.
