Considered a nuisance while we tuna fish but the shark fishing off Rhode Island is actually pretty incredible. We have more species than we’ve ever had before. However, it’s not all good as the increased brown sharks are eating our striped bass and also what happened to our blue sharks which used to be super common? Then there are also the porbeagles and of course we cannot forget the headliner, the great white. Has the shark population overall improved or worsened?

Better to be lucky than good as they say. This fish was courtesy of a perfectly sized bluefish that was gifted to us from @codydiggs and @finnnatic at 3 am! Also, I was trying to fish a structure and was positive I started on the wrong side of it, when for some reason we drifted into the wind and right into the life and structure. Regardless, we’ll take it!

I may be more excited for this fish than any other fish so far this year. This fish represents countless conversations and preparations we’ve had during the offseason. This is Cody’s first tuna on his own boat and first giant. This type of fishing may be routine for a bunch of you guys, but just think back to your first one and remember the excitement. This fish will never be forgotten. We’re so privileged to be able to participate in this fishery. Congrats to Cody, Kole, Brandon, and of course Maple!

This part of our season is somewhat maddening while also exciting. We will find acres of migrating fish in random locations with big girls like this fish @codydiggs caught, just to have them disappear with the next tide. There definitely is no substitute for time on the water looking for them!

Huge thanks to @circuit_bmx_shop @meserollshop and @215berks for hosting / organizing premieres for “Derailed”, as well as @woodsroombikepark and @previouspagebmx (wish I had that teleportation machine to make it to all of them).

And a huge thank you to everyone who made it out to each. As anyone who’s ever made a video and held a premiere for it can attest to, enjoying the company of others before, during, and after showing a project you created is an incredible feeling that can be hard to put into words. 🙏🏼

96-page book/video link , and DVDs for those who like hard copies available this weekend at select shops, and bio link.

For anyone in the Richmond, VA area, the next premiere is this Friday the 9th at @powersbmxshop 🤝
