Summer 2024: In and Out of town.

We had a show in Boston last week. That city means so much to me, having truly started my career there at Berklee. Reminiscing on my four years there made me think about the term success. There are so few of us that routinely play major stadiums and arenas, which is what we all want to do, or at some point have craved in this industry. I’m at the age where I highly doubt I’ll ever achieve that, but paying my bills while playing music full time is a success in its own right. The fact I can do it with some of the best musicians and people in the world is icing on the cake, at home and on the road. That’s success in its own right, and something 20 year old Mike always wanted. 36 year old Mike is fortunate to have achieved that.

I had a gig on Broadway over the summer, and had someone come up to me with text on their phone, which isn’t unusual. Paraphrasing, they said they were deaf but loved our show because they could feel my bass. I’m lucky to do this for a living, especially playing rock and roll all the time, but that was the best and coolest moment of my career. Here’s a small recap of the last 6 months, with the cutest roadie helping load out before dad hit the road one weekend. Happy holidays to everyone who finds this post, and here’s to a safe, happy, and louder 2024 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
