First summer harvest!! 🍓🍎🍑🥒

Our garden is officially in full bloom, and our Mariposas are celebrating the season with our first summer harvest! This week, we picked fresh strawberries, cucumbers, plums, and nectarines straight from our school garden.

From planting and watering to harvesting and tasting, our students experience the joy of watching their hard work grow into something delicious. These hands-on moments help children connect with nature, build responsibility, and develop a deeper appreciation for where food comes from.

Here’s to a summer filled with learning, growing, and harvesting together! 🌞🌿

¡Nuestra primera cosecha de verano! 🍓🍎🍑🥒

April in California
I didn’t spend nearly as much time revising as I should, but at least I had some time off with the people I love

Working on those fine motor and scissor skills!

We cut open the foil and dumped out the coffee for the compost, and then recycled the containers.

It was an easy mess to sweep up, smelled AMAZING, and kept him engrossed for half an hour! A great chance to sit and chat whilst doing something useful together 🥰

10/10, definitely recommend!

It goes without saying, supervise littles with scissors. Just putting this here. Just in case…😄

I love you August
The last month with my people before they all started their new lives, there was so much laughter and many many shed tears. I love all of you so dearly and hope to have this home to come back to even as I forge ahead into a new stage in my life. The past weeks have been rough, but I know everything will be alright as long as I have my friends and family to come home to (although being here while you’re all gone is a special sort of torture).
Goodbye, summer, I’ll see you next year

Spied these beauties out in the Valley today…if they suddenly go missing…they might have just made their way into a Mother’s/May Day Bouquet of sorts!💐😉 #snapdragon #snapdragons #schoolgarden #portolavalley #henryspl #henrys_place

Last year, right before we moved away from California, I hosted a Watercolor Cocktail Party. I put out snacks and let people play dress up in Forest Feast clothing. I invited some of my very favorite women over for one last gathering at the cabin, so bittersweet 🥲. I set out watercolor paints, of course, and fresh produce for inspiration and we all doodled as we caught up. It was so special to have these friends, who have supported me and my work so much over the years, be part of my new book — The Watercolor Feast. And ladies! I’ll be back in California in May on book tour, see you soon!

Preorder The Watercolor Feast now and host your own watercolor gathering! We need art now more than ever. Link in bio + stories!
