In honor of the International Day of the Girl Child, revisiting a moment that stayed with me: speaking to young girls across three different schools about menstruation, alongside Pharm Charis and @cognitherapist , for an event hosted by Crown Her Foundation, themed ‘Pads and Purpose.’

Understanding our bodies is the first step to owning our purpose and I am grateful to be in a space where girls can ask questions without shame and see their potential without limits.

Here’s to raising a generation of girls who are informed, confident, and unapologetically themselves.

We often talk about mental health at work, but how often do we address how the menstrual cycle impacts a team's brain health?

In part two of Mind Over Cycle, we’re dismantling the false narrative that severe premenstrual symptoms are just "moodiness". Conditions like Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) cause real, biological shifts in the brain that affect cognitive function, energy, and motivation.

Women are frequently misdiagnosed or dismissed when hormonal and mental health are treated as isolated silos. When we integrate menstrual cycle awareness into our understanding of mental well-being, we build more compassionate, flexible, and supportive environments for everyone.

Join us for part two of our webinar series as we discuss:

How hormonal fluctuations affect mood and mental processing.

Actionable strategies to support both menstrual and mental well-being.

When typical PMS crosses the line into PMDD and what help is available.

📅 Date & Time: 22 June, 2026 at 7pm WAT and 8pm CAT

The relationship between menstrual health and mental health is complex, powerful—and far too often overlooked.
For decades, we have treated physical cycles and psychological well-being as two entirely separate silos.

It’s time to break that barrier.

When our hormones fluctuate, our brains and behaviors respond. Yet, the stigma surrounding menstruation often forces professionals to silently battle "brain fog," anxiety, or mood swings without proper support.

By acknowledging the science behind the cycle, we can dismantle the taboo and build healthier, more empathetic workplaces and communities.

We are thrilled to announce our upcoming webinar: Mind Over Cycle: Dismantling the Barrier Between Menstrual and Mental Health.
We will be diving into:
📈 How hormonal shifts actually affect the brain and cognitive function.
🛑 Dismantling the stigma and stereotypes that delay support.
💡 Actionable ways to manage cycle-related moods and optimize well-being.
Join us as we normalize the conversation and advocate for comprehensive health. Let’s make menstrual and mental health part of the same vital conversation!
