Powerful day at West Point Military Academy hosted by Lt Col (ret) John Nawoichyk, associate athletic director. John gave us a memorable day, explaining life at the academy and history of the fort as he weaved in lessons on teamwork and leadership gained from our country’s quest for independence. The day culminated with a hike up the Trail of the Fallen, on which where we were honored to carry and place our rock recognizing and commemorating the memory of those who gave all in service to our country. Thank you John for providing an experience we will never forget! #wherescholarathletesaremade #pathlesstraveled #personaldevelopment #prepforlife #growth #teamwork #sharedhardships #prepforlife

Big Blue - a highlight of the year as we spent the day hosted by @nygiants GM Joe Schoen. Joe first gave us a peak into how the team evaluates players in their incredible draft room. Then our tour included time in the weight room with Coach Frank, and Q & A with head coach Brian Daboll and director of performance Aaron Wellman, before we finished the day watching practice. So many valuable takeaways; from the importance of sleep and nutrition, to the value of service and leadership. Most impressive were the insights into the journeys of Joe and Coach Daboll, who have demonstrated incredible resilience and drive coming from humble beginnings to attain the most sought after positions in professional sports - inspiring! The organization could not have been more welcoming - thank you !! #wherescholarathletesaremade #growth #personaldevelopment #prepwithus #pathlesstraveled #enrichment #prepyear #gratitude

Beautiful day in downtown Fair Lawn as Marlies Drahouzal, Dutch House Tavern proprietor, told us some of the history of the farmhouse built in the 1700’s. After lunch, we had the privilege of meeting Danny Sewall, owner of Radburn Care Care who shared the story of his non-traditional path through high school, on to owning and operating several successful businesses- in addition to his many tips for success, he gave a lesson in basic car care checking/adding fluids and air pressure, pumping gas, and so much more - thankful for our generous hosts and the gorgeous weather ! #pathlesstraveled #wherescholarathletesaremade #growth #personaldevelopment #prepforlife

The Dr is In ! Thank you to Dr Ken Montgomery, orthopedic surgeon, for sharing his journey with us. Ken’s interest in science at a young age, willingness to work hard, and love of helping people have led to an incredible career in sports medicine. We learned the importance of delayed gratification, how hard choices early in life lead to an easier path later, and enjoyed hearing about Dr Ken’s work as chief of the @nyjets medical team. Equally impressive is his commitment to @orthonations, a group he founded that travels all over the world to teach and help doctors improve their craft. #wherescholarathletesaremade #personaldevelopment #prepforlife #growth

Finishing a strong week with a trip to the Morris Museum where we took in some interesting exhibits, learned some of the history of the area, and had a very nice lunch downtown. #alwayslearning #pathlesstraveled #wherescholarathletesaremade #personaldevelopment #growth #writethatup #prepforlife
