POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

As my season comes to a close soon, you take moments to reflect it all. What a busy and amazing season it has been. We have one more to go and then I start shut down up here on the farm. We will start winterizing the bathrooms and getting things cleaned up, packed and put away for winter before the glacial silt starts to fly. This summer was the most I’ve ever hosted and it was a lot, but I also accomplished a lot to even get here. We started with a chunk of woods, clearing land and building everything ourselves. If you would have told me this is where I would be after what was suppose to be our first true season during Covid, not sure I would have believed you. What a crazy time that was to try and start a business.

This place has truly grown each year and just keeps getting better. While I don’t have major plans this next year, we have some little fun things to work on to keep tying this place in together. So thank you for sharing Briarwood with friends and family, for the Facebook and Google reviews, the word of mouth, all of it! I wouldn’t be here without all of you! Cheers!

This entire wedding was such a vibe all the way to the beautiful bride croqueting her wedding dress! Just wow! Working with amazing vendors to make it happen, it was suppose to rain that day but instead a pair of Bald Eagles graced us with their presence during the ceremony flying over multiple times. Truly special day with everyone who came out for it!

Yesterday I woke up with this thought in my head:

"I'm proud of you" 💗

The thought wasn't connected to anything I had said or accomplished. It was simply a fact.

"I'm proud of you", my inner wild woman said.

"Even on the days when you don't feel like enough. Even when you mess up. Even when you're scared and mad and bitchy and overzealous and completely wrong.

Even when you worry and overthink and over-give and underestimate yourself. Even when you feel stuck, unmotivated, and completely overwhelmed by life. Even when you cry and rage and scream.

Even when you forget to answer texts, spell things wrong, and lose receipts. Even when you feel you aren't a good friend or wife or business owner.

Even when you feel ugly, overweight, and undesirable. Even when you're hypercritical of yourself and numb out with whatever works in the moment...

Even then, even so.
No matter what.
I am proud of you."

Community is everything. For my final post in this YES, AND mini-series, I'm sharing thankfulness for the beautiful complexity of my community. Yes, being a part of a community can be hard. We don’t always agree. Sometimes we compete. Sometimes we make mistakes. We’re all learning; none of us are perfect. A n d, I am so grateful for every non-perfect, deeply flawed, human piece of it.

Yes, being in community with other humans requires showing up.
AND, being in community allows me to feel seen.

Yes, being in community requires speaking up.
AND, being in community allows me to feel heard.

Yes, being in community requires presence, patience, and perseverance.
AND, being a steward of said community is one of the most rewarding endeavors of my life.

Yes, if you are here, you are part of my community; and, I am so happy to be connected with you. Thank you for all the ways you each show up. Thank you for the likes, the comments, the saves, and the shares. Thank you for the DMs, the personal stories, and vulnerable confessions. These mean the world to me.

This past year, some of you have touched my life in more ways than I can adequately describe and I offer you my sincere gratitude. There is no place or time I would rather be, than right here, in community with each and every one of you.

Join me in this celebration of our amazing community and tag the people who have really supported you this year in the comments below. ❤️❤️❤️⬇️⬇️⬇️

The worst part about summer,
is usually how fast it goes.

But I have learned that brevity is where beauty lives.

Summer season, especially in Alaska, is a stunning metaphor for the fleeting brilliance of life itself. These tiny moments that we are gifted with are so precious. Every breath is an opportunity to be >>IN<< your life in deeper ways.

Look back at the beautiful moments from this summer, be >>IN<< this one wild and precious moment you have been given right n o w, and know that even more is coming.

Yesterday I emailed my coaching clients this message:

As you move towards the new year it can be tempting to get caught up in the low-vibe energy of doing/hustle/getting.

You may place your attention on all the things you lack and feel you need to improve, rather than allowing yourself to be present and celebrate this amazing place that you're at...
This luminous place of naming and claiming your desires.

Redirect your attention to appreciate where you ARE. And this New Year's Eve,
c e l e b r a t e!

Celebrate all that you are, every magical bit of you, exactly where you are. Lean back and trust that what is meant for you is on its way to you, now. #blissedout

Reposted from @blissyoga.ak this summer when I was having SO much fun.
. . . . . .
"The universe works fast when I'm having fun" #gabbybernstein

I've been playing with the concept of fun for months now. Joy, pleasure, and laughter have all earned the gift of my attention.

And this is what I found out:
•I'm actually more productive when I have lots of fun
•I have more fun when I'm well rested
•I experience more pleasure when I'm more present
•I participate more fully in my life when I cultivate joy
•Laughter truly is the best medicine

Are you having fun? Tell me about it! ⬇️

Seasons change. Our cells turn over. Relationships evolve. The light outside decreases. The light inside increases. We see our breath. The temperatures swing.

"While we live our bodies are moving particles of the earth, joined inextricably both to the soil and to the bodies of other living creatures. It is hardly surprising, then, that there should be some profound resemblances between our treatment of our bodies and our treatment of the earth." #WendellBerry
