⚾️ SHOWCASE TOOLS vs. GAME TOOLS ⚾️ Showcase performances can put your TOOLS on the radar. But how you USE those tools between the white lines is what gets you recruited. You can have great exit velo, run a 6.6, throw 90+ across the diamond or light up a radar gun on the mound. But does it translate when the game starts? HITTERS: Does your offensive ability beat the pitcher’s stuff when it counts? Can you compete through a 5–8 pitch AB when a call or 2 doesn’t go your way? Can you hit with two strikes? Move a runner? Get a bunt down when asked? Execute a hit-and-run? Know the signs? Run the bases correctly? Make the routine play? Produce when the game is on the line? Most importantly, can you execute for your team and put personal goals aside for team goals? PITCHERS: Does your velocity, spin and movement translate into QUALITY STRIKES? Can you command multiple pitches? Get ahead in counts? Execute a pitch when you absolutely have to? Pitch out of trouble? Control the running game? Hold runners and vary your times? Compete without your best stuff? Most importantly, can you execute for your team and put personal goals aside for team goals? There’s a difference between having SHOWCASE TOOLS and having GAME TOOLS. If your tools consistently translate between the white lines, you get RECRUITED. If they don’t, you may just keep getting FOLLOWED. Learn how to play WINNING BASEBALL. Become the player your coach can confidently tell a college coach: “This kid is just a damn winner. He’s someone you want in your program.” Tools get their attention. Knowing how to PLAY—and executing for your team —gets you recruited. ⚾️ #4L
