Extremely proud to release the trailer for our film GRATUITY @gratuitythemovie

This is what happens when friends from across the film industry come together, combine their talents and resources, and simply make something happen.

Whether the industry gives us a path or not doesn’t matter. We pave our own path, through collaboration, community, and a shared love for filmmaking.

Proud and grateful of everyone who came together to bring this film to life.

8/26/26 Trailer Release for @gratuitythemovie

Here is the trailer to my new film Gratuity!
What makes this project so close and personal is that everyone involved is in a pivot/change/reinvention of their careers, and we got to do it together! Dreams dies when they become Reality, don’t chase your dreams, lead them!

Shoutout to the whole cast and crew for helping us create this, it means the world to me 🙏

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our film screening this weekend 🎥🎞️

We’re grateful to filmmakers @definitelynotbenwang and @johnsoncheng for sharing their work and taking the time to speak with our community, and to @bloomli_ for moderating such a thoughtful conversation.

One of Fuzhou America’s goals is to create space for stories to be seen, discussed, and celebrated. Thanks again to everyone who came—we’re looking forward to sharing more stories and spotlighting more members of our creative community.

Basketball in the public consciousness this week~

I’m thinking back on this picture of the lone karaoke singer at @asiaromany that appeared in LEGENDS, curated by @notjaynecole

Now, after five @chinatownbasketballclub watch parties at that same little bar on Mulberry street, I couldn’t imagine witnessing this Knicks’ championship run with anyone else.

I search, probe, for what the pictures I take of basketball, poker, karaoke, the everyday, mean to me. What’s unremarkable, abject, or sublime? The highest of highs, the lowest of lows. We’re all captivated for some reason or another.

Chinatown deals with unceasing pressure from displacement and gentrification, processes of erasure. It’s relentlessly gazed at and photographed. In spite of it all, these spaces invite fantasy. It was a haven during these games. We live here, lose here, win here. And I just wanted to say: damn, I love basketball

🎞️ Stills from “Don’t Be Sorry” by @maxwoooow 🎬

I got to film two suuuper cool short films in April:

• @maxwoooow ’s “Don’t Be Sorry” as ‘Clair’, and
• @izumo.kawabe ‘s “Monsters Don’t Bleed” as ‘Emily Collins’

Same crew, two different directors, and two very different, brilliant, films.

There’s nothing better than collaborating with lovely, talented people who are passionate about telling interesting stories. I’m so grateful to have been a part of both these projects :)

My creative home when I first moved to New York was the Circle Rep Lab and Theatre School, studying with the likes of Craig Lucas, Michael Warren Powell, Milan Stitt, Lanford Wilson, among others.

The Circle Rep Lab has undergone several transformations since its founding in 1969, with its latest iteration being the New Circle Theatre Company. But the mission remains the same: to foster and incubate bold new plays.

What a treat to attend last night’s reading of new one-acts by Tom Simmons, Jonathan Ward, Kari Swenson Riely @kaririely and my good friend Emily Tetzlaff @tetzlaffe (who has blossomed into a very talented playwright in her own right)!

And it was great to see old friends and make some new ones!

Congratulations, one and all! Keep up the great work!!!
